Blingers was actually named in the bests in the second game. Gus was well Gus. He had the most hitouts ( 8 ) but any decent ruckman should've had a field day against Westhoff and Trengove.

Schulz again the most impressive.

When he wasn't refusing to lead, or leading into pockets. Weather was hot though. His field kicking is worse than Tambo's, lucky he doesn't have to do it too much.

THERE is concern that extreme heat during the NAB Cup could be worsened by the trial of interchange restrictions.

The forecast on Friday is 29 degrees. Hopefully it's starting to cool off by the time we play in the 2nd and 3rd games.

Anyway moving onto next Friday and the Tiges game which matters to us. I'm guessing with the warmer weather and capped interchange  we'll do something similar to last year when we made a fair few changes between the two games. The choice is whether we go with our 'A' and then 'B' sides or mix and match to even them up. Last year from memory we went with a inexperienced side in the second game against Hawthorn.

So start with something like:

B:    Morris          Rance        Astbury
HB:  Houli          Griffiths        Ellis
C:    Grigg          Martin        Deledio
HF: S.Edwards  A.Edwards  Newman
F:    Nahas         Riewoldt     Vickery
R:   Maric          Tuck        Cotchin
Int:  Jackson, Conca, Petterd, Vlastuin

Then for the second game introduce fresh legs from the rest available - Knights, Elton, McGuane. Dea, Derickx, Verrier, Arnot, Darrou, McIntosh, McBean, McDonough, Williams, White, Batchelor, Helbig, O'Hanlon and Stephenson (if he's okay again as he missed the intra-club).

Grimes, Chaplin, Lonergan and Foley to miss.

Chaplin isn't far away. He's expected to play in either round 2 or 3 of the NAB Cup. Grimes is still coming back from his hammy injury he did last year. The Club was talking round 1 but that seems unlikely.

From the Foxtel tv guide:

Live: AFL: NAB Cup Pool 4, Melb v Rich

504 FOX FOOTY
Starts: Fri 22 Feb, 7:40 pm - 8:50 pm
The Tigers and the Demons have both recruited heavily over summer, trying to fill gaps in their list in the hopes of joining in on the September action in 2013. We get a first look at the progress as they lock horns at Etihad.

Starts: Fri 22 Feb, 8:50 pm - 10:00pm
With a few key additions over summer, the Tigers look certain to figure in finals for the first time since 2001. But facing them tonight are North Melbourne, who's 96-point loss in last year's elimination final will be powerful motivation.

Forecast for the Friday is 31 degrees. So it's going to be a warm night to play footy.
