Richmond’s first pick in the 2012 National Draft, Nick Vlastuin, will wear the No. 31 guernsey in his debut season at Tigerland.

The Tigers’ three other National Draft selections - Kamdyn McIntosh, Liam McBean and Matthew McDonough - will wear No. 33, No. 34 and No. 36 respectively.

In light of Dimma's comments last week on the wireless about the significance (or lack there of) of numbers I find this sentence in the article laughable at best

This is in line with the Club’s policy of making newcomers earn their stripes before being considered for any of the numbers steeped in Tigerland tradition.

Yep. May as well ditch that idea too. Mixed messages.
At the end of the day they're just bloody numbers.
Who wears the jumper is what matters. The jumper is what needs to be respected, not the digits on the back.

I thought 33 was steeped in Tigerland tradition. David Cloke, Matty Knights etc. Hell what do they expect! :huh :huh :rollin

Earning numbers is an absolute wank. They're stuffing numbers.

you needn't be so glib davey, ea number has a history of its own, its called tradititon :clapping

They're numbers FFS. What did Kayne Pettifer do to earn Disco's number?
They gave him Dick Clays number as they both played footy in Kyabram. Just for your info Sir Coach!

As a bit of fun, what numbers do you think Petterd, Lonergan, Stephenson and Williams will get?

Nos. 13, 17, 19, 22, 37, 40, 42, 46 & 47 are still available.
