30-50 games is where many players become players. Delisting a 22 year old tall with promise says something else is going on behind the scenes. We picked up a tattoed alco instead who's already in trouble. Great move

That would all be correct if he actually had promise.

I agree with Mad here, might be in the minority but I cant see where Edwards ofters us any more than Post did. I think he will come good somewhere, this might be the boot he needed.

He can't play. Move on.

My concern is the club is starting to take short cuts again. It happens all the time. The problem is the club has been yapping on about improving the culture of the place. So out goes a hard working tall who granted has shown little apart from good hands for marking and he is substituted by a poorly disciplined discard who is near the end of their career!

Post's dismissal would have been much easier to understand if Edwards had not been recruited.
How does this guy improve the culture around the club and what sort of example does this give to all our youngsters!

VERY POOR MOVE TIGERS!

Yet we've got 4 picks in the draft. :P

Edwards is low cost with the possibility of high return.
He fills a genuine list requirement that we lacked last season.
Yesterday's news was a disappointing but let's just give it a shot first before we crap all over this decision.

If it was back to the old, we would have only had 3 picks this draft and used our 3rd to draft Edwards (eg. Hislop, Thomson).

We 'reached' for Post at pick 26 in the 2008 draft because our next pick was at 58. It obviously didn't pay off  :-\.

The 2008 National draft was a flop for us with only Vickery, if he can return to his 2011 breakout year form, possibly the only player we got out of it. We had too few picks to begin with drafting just two kids and had the foolish mentality going into Wallace's final year of being "locked and loaded"  :P. In fact nothing to write home about from the whole trade/draft period of that year. Nahas the only other one to have played a fair amount of AFL footy.

ND
8. Vickery
26. Post ....... overlooked Beams, Hannebery, Robinson, Sloane going for a tall.
43. Traded for Adam Thomson  :scream
58. Tom Hislop  :scream

PSD
6. Ben Cousins

RD
8.Robin  Nahas
24. David Gourdis ....... redrafted
39. Andrew Browne
53. Alroy Gilligan
All with the benefit of hindsight, but I think the problem with that draft was using 43 and 58 on recycled players and only two picks on youngsters.  Plenty has been previously said about Cousins in the PSD and the rookie draft wasn't too bad, apart perhaps from the redrafting of Gourdis. You'd have to say Nahas was a successful rookie pick and Browne, while ultimately not working was worth a shot that deep in the rookie draft.

Which is why I think we should make sure we use all 4 picks in this years draft on getting some new kids in. My concern is that they will use the Post delisting to free up a spot to DFA Cameron Wood. I've never really rated Wood (he shows occasional signs of talent but few signs of heart), but if they do get him I hope its not at the expense of one of our first four picks.

Disappointing is the understatement of the year!
What a way of starting off your time at a new club!
Disgraceful is a better term. He better be a bloody good player for us as he would be on reasonable coin.
The club has gone out of its way to interview prospective recruits in the past and then this!
Go figure!

This comment sums up Post in a nutshell. You can give a talented footballer a boot in the arse if he is operating at 70%, but Post was running at 100% effort and commitment and still didn't make the grade. This confirms he was just out of his depth, plain and simple.

Agree. Unlike Astbury and Griffiths who've had some serious injuries, Post has had an uninterrupted crack at it.

Tweet says a bit about Grimesy too. Future leader if he can get himself right.
