Maybe it has something to do with this little sentence in today's Australian by Greg Denham:

An Achilles tendon injury will prevent former Melbourne forward Ricky Petterd from training with Richmond over the next few weeks, but the Tigers will still consider him in the rookie draft.

Injury is probably a ruse to turn other clubs off him so they can pick him up late in rookie draft.
If we can get Toy, Stephenson & Petterd as back up rookies I would say that is pretty good.

Would love it if someone could confirm what the total number of rookies clubs can have in 2013

Is it 4 or 6?

Had heard it was going back to 4 but clubs were going to "fight" city hall over it  ;D

Depends how many we put on the main list. We have 8 spots available with at least 4 of them having to go on senior list. Our list will comprise of 44 players total. We have 36 currently 34 + 2.
