I think Losing Scotland will hurt them more than Waite. In previous encounters, a lot of Blues goals came through the likes of Betts, Armfield and Robinson. If we can contain these three, we should be more competitive.
In saying that, who should we play against these three?
I'd like to see Flossy on Robinson if he gets a start, Conca on Armfield and on Betts I have NFI. Morrie would be an option but Betts might show him for pace. Jake King started his career in the back pocket, he has the pace and the grunt to put pressure on him but this would be a highly unlikely option with our current setups.
That's the million dollar question tiga.
Armfield plays as a defensive half forward, he will tag one of our prime movers out of the backline likely Houli. When they get the ball he runs off his opponent so fast and has hurt us in the past bc we have shown him little respect. Should try and put Ellis onto him if this happens as Houli is a more important ball carry-er . The danger is Armfield can burn Ellis with pace, but Ellis is fit enough and runs long enough to keep armfield honest.
Robinson - I think Batchelor is a good matchup for him but he probably wont play. Is Petterd good enough? Would you expose Vlastuin in his debut game to such a high intensity player as Robinson?
Betts - Has to be Morris. Is our best matchup for small forwards period.
If garlett doesnt play its one less headache. If he does, who do we matchup on him?
