They seem to chop and change depending on the round. If there's a "one-game wonder" for the week then they seem to go for that; if not then they pick on consistency.
That’s what I thought too MT, but when Marty McGrath kicked 5 ? goals on debut, a couple of years ago, he never got a look in. At the time, something about consistency was mentioned. Yet other players who have had those ‘flash in the pan’ games, that DC mentioned, have been nominated.
Brent Hartigan had to wait until Round 22 last year to get nominated. By then, he’d played 19 games and been in our best on a few occasions, or at least stood up in a struggling team. I thought he deserved a nomination before Round 22, but that’s just me I guess.
I suppose the main thing is that those who deserve it are nominated at some stage through a season.
