If you're talking about blokes like Milne and Betts with 40-50+ goals, they're from teams without a Coleman Medalist or even a half decent key forward. Averages almost 18 disposals a game with a 29 goal season in a team with a key forward and a plethora of goal kicking mid fielders.

He is still not a game winner like Betts and Milne, just doesn't have the X factor like them and turns the ball over more, all 3 play similar roles.

That's right. He's not as good as Milne or Betts.

Not sure what that has to do with consistency but.

i didnt think you rated Betts, Wat?

and following your shifting goal posts, are there many players who average more than 20 possessions playing mainly forward?

How do they play similar roles when two of them often play full forward because the rest of their forward line is poo? Take away Sheds' 22 disposal and 4 goal game and make it an average game of 18 and 1, he still finishes the season on around an average of 17 disposals a game and 25 goals for the season playing off the ball. Bloke is consistently better than average without being a superstar.

Milne and Betts spent time on the ball yet still only managed 12 and 13 disposals a game, with season highs of 16 and 17?  Look out, these blokes are weapons. If you're trouble they'll get put on the ball and tear you a new one  :shh

Go back over the years, compare that, not just one year, also see how many games the 3 have won off their own boot....think you know the answer.

Anyway, not really the thread for it, suffice to say, the same as I say every year, I hope he does play well and have an excellent year...for a change. ;D

I don't care about over the years. That's not relevant. The most relevant is 2012 and Edwards was consistently better than average and I'll judge him on that. In 2012, Milne and Betts played a lot of full forward, won their club's goal kicking with nobody in sight, and to top it off Milne averaged far less disposals than Edwards but had the 16th most clangers in the comp.

So you only care about consistency for one year and thats what you base your good player assumptions on....I feel sorry for Judd in his last year then if you are rating him... :huh

So you don't rate Maric then? Seasons gone are seasons done and dusted. Relevance is nil.
