A banned drug is a banned drug. It’s not a debate because it’s THE EFFING RULE.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I don’t give care the slightest what your parents did, obvious you were too busy with ballet classes and didn’t play with pain killers every week just to get through.
I said it was illegal but I think that a drug that is just used to treat an injury doesn’t increase performance,  but did I say it was illegal and was punished? Whilst I understand your view I think  you are STUPID as you need to be right and cannot agree to disagree when someone has a different viewpoint

Dio rrhea by name and by nature , it just keeps coming out of the mouth , with the little petty narcissist cheap shot what a moron. Never has anything to add of value, have a look at the negative crap he dribbled out the draft, I guess haters have got to hate !

I see you ignored my previous post.

Are you suggesting now that the anabolic steroid 'boldenone undecylenate' isn't performance-enhancing?

Cortisone injections is another , of course steroids are illegal which I’ve said 4 times but by the definition a drug that allows you to play when you otherwise couldn’t is improving a players performance.

I respect your opinion but I don’t agree with it , surely you can understand that ?

Anabolic steroids contribute to muscle growth.

The steroid injection you're talking about reduces inflammation and pain.

That's a key difference.

If the muscle growth is only to heal an injury , it would be a similar result if it allows a player to get the field when the wouldn’t have without the drug,
Both could be argued as performance enhancing.

Its pointless anyway , ones legal ones not, compliance is required and if I see it a little grey compared to your black or white it’s because  I see it’s use for injury under medical supervision in small quantities as beneficial to healing but  unsupervised for uninjured players in large quantities as cheating .

Here’s the real issue. The whole world over has banned anabolic steroids since forever. Argument, debate or whining - however you look at it, is irrelevant. It’s like arguing the speed limit.
Your opinion matters not. It is what it is.

Ben Johnston is a drug cheat.
Justin Charles is a drug cheat.

As is Jobe.

Case closed, if you don’t like it / bad luck.

Sure, said it was illegal and if people cheat they deserve their right wack😁
I’m happy for you to have your own opinion on anything as long as it respectful, it doesn’t make it right or wrong , it’s just an opinion .

It’s not an opinion. It’s fact as decreed by the governing bodies. Yours is an opinion.

Same with the Essendon argument, the reasons and why Justin or Essendon players took the drugs, matters zero. They took them, they were proven to have a banned substance in them. Whether it's intentional, bad luck or whatever, if it's a banned substance, the players need to be held accountable.

Same with Warney, regardless of the reason, we can paint it up to be this lovely story about weight loss, which may be true. If it's banned it's banned and there needs to be consequences to deter players doing it and absolutely ruining professional sport.
Go Tigers!

Ignorance is not an excuse for doping charges by ASADA/WADA in the AFL or any other sport. At the end of the day you and you alone are responsible for why goes into your body so their penalties were absolutely justified.

Hatred of Essendon aside though, I do feel a bit sorry for Jobe and the rest of the players. If you can’t trust your club doctors and high performance team to be doing things by the book and looking after your well-being then who can you trust? Especially for the younger players, can you really expect them to stand up to senior people at the club to question what was being administered to them?

That whole “program” was disgraceful by the bombers. Even if you buy into their story that was being administered was not on the banned substances list and that no player was ever actually tested positive for any banned substance, the whole thing was beyond shady. Going to offsite facilities to get the drugs administered, having massive gaps in their documentation so much so that they didn’t even have records of when and what was being administered.

I didn’t read the one million articles that came out during the time so I’m far from an expert. correct me if I’m wrong on any of the above.
