Caro back tonight.

Lloyd took issue with Hardwick talking about September at the Family Day. For a club that has been out of the finals for so long (12 years) they shouldn't be putting pressure on themselves once again talking about September.  Hutchy laughed saying what do you expect Dimma to say at a Family Day - that we're going to fail. Lloyd said no but they should be focusing on the first 5 rounds not September. Hutchy was then asked where he thought Richmond would finish. He said despite himself famously being a bad tipper he had the Tigers finishing top 4. He then put up a graphic showing that if we had scored 15 points more per game then we would've finished 17-5 rather than 10-11-1. Richmond beat both grand finalists by 6 goals, lost only one game by 22 pts (the rest were close losses) and have added 8 more players to their depth this year. Caro replied that Richmond also lost to the Gold Coast and just beat GWS. She said she wanted to back up Lloyd as there's massive pressure on Richmond this year and if Hardwick doesn't get the Tigers into the finals there'll be massive pressure on him; he won't get a contract extension that's for sure even if Cotchin and Deledio are injured and out for the year.

Triangle mouth seriously has issues with our club

Interesting comment. You were swinging form Lordo's nuts not long ago, now you're off the bandwagon.
Can see where he is coming from but I have no issues with what Hardwick said. Hutchy's on our bandwagon ;D Top 4 he reckons ;D Not sure about that but we will play finals ;D

That was a good little discussion they had about us. Hutchy has been surprisingly upbeat about us for quite some time. At first I just thought it was to lift us up just to enjoy watch us fall but I'm now starting to believe he is genuine in his belief. Caro will never put her neck out and be optimistic about our chances even if she hopes it is true. Lloyd has never respected us as a club after smashing us so many times over his career. He is a very biased media analysis. He needs to learn to become more professional and leave his past behind him imo.

Agree regarding Lloyd, Stripes. He's not very objective when it comes to some matters or clubs.

He's just not very bright. Not that that has ever stopped ex-players pursuing a media career.

Not sure why he's not coaching Essendrug's forwards TBH, something he is probably qualified to do.

Don't get me wrong I loved Llordo as a player. Lead, mark and goal etc etc and I respect his opinion 99.9% of the time but not when he says Essendon will make it and we won't.

He's got absolutely nothing to back that prediction up except for his bias. Having said that I'd still have him at the RFC as a forwards coach in a heartbeat.

just because someone is a good player doesnt mean they can coach.

Naturally gifted players who are are not so smart like Lloydy often make poor coaches.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

To be fair to Lloydy, he is a naturally gifted footballer who is borderline wacko so I'm not sure he is going to be good at anything that involves thinking.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

Bit of poppycock there I reckon. Lloydy kicked 900+ goals. I reckon he'd be a great guy to work with if you are a young forward needing advice. What wisdom does Mark Melbourne Williams  have?

This. Pretty sure Highpants who was all about routine could teach a bloke how to improve his goal kicking. Why does every coach have to be some sort of tactitian? Not enough skills coaches anymore.

Tim Watson says hi.

Hi Tim. Did you kick 900 goals and work with a club as a specialist forward coach? Or did you fail as a senior head coach  ?

Tim still says hi.  And so do Bernie Quinlan, Gary Buckenara, Matthew Primus, Royce Hart, Peter Knights, Tony Shaw and Ken Judge.

A coach is a coach, Coach.    :)

If you look through the good coaches, there is as many, if not more that were battlers/honest toilers as players rather than naturally gifted players Malthouse, hafey and sheedy come to mind as examples

To be a good coach you need to have an understanding of the game, be a good communicator, a good motivator and need to be able to relate to the players for whom things just dont come naturally.

Being naturally gifted as a player does not necessary mean you will have these attributes, and if you are a simplton then it makes it less likely you would be a good coach.
