The rainfall prior to this current dry spell showed our current dams can easily supply Melbourne will enough water when they are full. The problem with dams is they dry up during long droughts at a time when you need the water from them more than ever. Building another rain-dependent dam won't get around that problem. In fact building another dam would've been called a white elephant given now we have enough water at the moment
. For the next long drought we'll need a rain-independent source of water such as the desal. Anyway it's going to be interesting in the future when the Libs are on harsh water restrictions while the rest of us have desal water during the next drought

Anyway back to Baillieu - he's taken the fall (more like pushed out) for a useless government that in just two years has driven Victoria into recession with rising unemployment while they were asleep at the wheel
. The fact Geoff Shaw caused Baillieu's resignation is even more embarrassing; be like Craig Thompson telling Gillard to resign. The one who should have resigned first was Peter Ryan over this police tapes affair. It just goes to show there's grubs and grubbiness on both side of politics. Of course Abbott is fine with it when it's his side doing it.
