Captain Schettino mark 2.

what an abolsute farce of a leader we have had to subject ourselves too.

goodbye and good riddons fool for doing nothing.

did i read somewhere that he okay'd the brigthon train station to be built underground fully funded by his government. Could have read it wrong but wouldnt surprise me if he looked after his toorak mates.

what will it take to ditch all state governments and only have a federal. Perhaps ditching the queen will do the trick?

What a complete waste of tax payer money. Local councils on big bucks for doing sfa, local mp's do sfa yet they get paid big bucks, state government on big bucks for doing absolutely sfa.

it seems a big load of poo how over governed we are yet we are the ones who have to cough up.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

State Labor did plenty during the Cain and Kirner governments. The boggest accomplishment was to bankrupt the State of Victoria for one thing. As for Brumbys/Bracks lol ... they gave us the $28 billion dollar white elephant desal plant. What a stuffen disgrace. Should have just stuck a damn on the Mitchell River for $600 million and we would have been ok for the next 100 years.

The rainfall prior to this current dry spell showed our current dams can easily supply Melbourne will enough water when they are full. The problem with dams is they dry up during long droughts at a time when you need the water from them more than ever. Building another rain-dependent dam won't get around that problem. In fact building another dam would've been called a white elephant given now we have enough water at the moment ;). For the next long drought we'll need a rain-independent source of water such as the desal. Anyway it's going to be interesting in the future when the Libs are on harsh water restrictions while the rest of us have desal water during the next drought  :whistle ;D

Anyway back to Baillieu - he's taken the fall (more like pushed out) for a useless government that in just two years has driven Victoria into recession with rising unemployment while they were asleep at the wheel ::). The fact Geoff Shaw caused Baillieu's resignation is even more embarrassing; be like Craig Thompson telling Gillard to resign. The one who should have resigned first was Peter Ryan over this police tapes affair. It just goes to show there's grubs and grubbiness on both side of politics. Of course Abbott is fine with it when it's his side doing it.

State Labor did plenty during the Cain and Kirner governments.

Exactly, gave us the National Tennis Centre (aka Cain's Cathedral  ;D) the finest tennis venue in the world that others are no copying (eg Wimbledon and a retractable roof). Guaranteed us hosting the Aust Open which generates millions for state unlike that pesky Grand Prix that Jeff got for us  ;)

As for the Bracks/Brumby Governments suggest you have a drive along Flemington Road - there is a state of the art Childrens hospital that was commissioned and built by said Govt. I know Big ted took credit for it because he was in power when it opened but getting it built was thanks to the previous mob - ditto the new Royal Womens

Carry on  ;D

The Regional Rail project will also make a huge difference unblocking bottlenecks in the suburban and country rail system on the western side of the city that have been around for 100 years. Another Bracks/Brumby Government major infrastructure project that is actually being built unlike 44 year old phoney regurgitated election promises to build Rowville and Doncaster rail lines that have never seen the light of day.

All on the State credit card. Labor never pays for anything. They tax and spend and when they cant tax enough they just go into debt. Look at Rudd and Gillard they came to power with Zero Public Debt and will leave in September leaving Australia almost $300 billion down the crapper.

Just on the Desal plant we will need it now that water restrictions are goneskis and people continue to try and grow their driveways. Sick to death of people wasting water by watering their driveways  :banghead :banghead
