Well it took a while but I been proven correct on recruiting players like Grigg & Houli - been a waste of time. Should have developed a couple of kids during this time to play these roles.

Mate, we paid nothing for them, they were free and upgrades on what we had. Gotten better value out of them than we would have gotten out of picks 80 and 90 in the draft imo. Not sure what more you think the club couldve done? Give away top draft picks to land "superstars"?

I'm an unashamed Houli fan, think he gets a bum wrap from supporters and is good value overall. Put him in our top dozen no problem.

on the money there tony. some seem to think you can just fill your stable with stars like fantasy football.

i wouldnt call myself an anabashed fan of houli,  but i have time for him. His disposal was an ingredient badly lacking when we got him .

Had 9 tackles on the weekend too, did Bachar .:shh

He does still go to ground too easily, but that has improved since he arrived.

Agree with you both.  Houli is the least of our problems and well inside our best 22.

Would any of those boys be in the best 22 players at Geelong, Essendon, Hawthorn, Sydney?

Probably, yes, because they would have the support on field that lets them play their natural game.

We look unfit

No run

Anyone think there is a possibility the club want the players to hit peak fitness after the bye round so we don't run out of steam in the run home?

Issue is we may have derailed by then...

yeah, possible on both counts.

My thoughts...
Out Vickery, Maric,Petterd (inj) Newman, Jackson, , White (omit)
In Tuck, Foley, Stephenson, Edwards, Griffiths, Nahas

Tuck must play!!! End the farce.

Other than injuries to the ones already mentioned would love to see Foley and Tuck in.

If Jackson is not omitted then Hardwick needs to start being questioned. He can't keep hiding behind turning over of players and how young our list is.

Reminds me of mid to late 90's now. We were a middle of the road side who could go either way.

Time to reinvest in the kids.

You want to invest in kids but also want to see tuck and foley in the side  :huh
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

Not too hard to comprehend, there are plenty of mature tried and tested players in our lineup other than Foley and Tuck that arent up to it that could and should make way for  several of these young guys

I want to see the "biscuit".

Love to see this bad ass dude getting a game and showing some steel.

Too many pansies in the team!

Someone like Stuart Maxfield that had a hard edge but could bust through a pack?
Or someone like Scotty Turner or Johnny Howat that could deck someone with a good hip and shoulder?

So true Y & B. too many softys for my liking.
The club that keeps giving.

As mentioned in the Footy Classified thread, Lyon said Grimes (foot) is 50/50 while Petterd (calf) will miss this week.

Grimes will be lucky to play apparently, or is that the brother?

His brother won't. Broken collar bone.

As for changes, if we have so many out injured it's hard to see many, if any omissions. Too many changes is disaster.
