My Watch Dog bugs have been things like "escape or kill pursuers" and even after killing them all the mission won't end so I have to restart. I only have 3 convoys and 4 driving side missions to go and on Act III, so almost got the 100% clock. Done all the investigations and stuff because I was going for the platinum but the online is peeing me off and I'm struggling with some of the later drinking games so it can get stuffed  ;D I wonder if Ubisoft are getting old with their ideas. The Watch Dogs formula is almost identical to Farcry 3 which was just lifted from Assassin's Creed. AC Unity and The Division will be a good gauge at how they're going as they will be only new gen.

NBA2k14 on ps4 is a dead set ripper. I've played the crap out of that one. The career mode just gets better every year. You're right that FIFA games don't change but when everyone else upgrades you're compelled to do the same just to be able to play against them :(

Speaking of xbox saw EB have a xbone + 4 games for $498 with a ps3 or 360 slim trade in. Think I might take advantage of that one for next Forza and Halo. Witcher 3 will be the next benchmark in graphics and will understandably be scaled back on consoles. Seriously considering doing a PC upgrade for it next year but will first see what 4A games do with Metro Redux. Last Light looked amazing on my PC and the console version was arse. If the new ps4 port of 2033 and Last Light look as good as my PC I'll hold off on the PC upgrade for a while longer. The Last of Us remaster isn't far away either. Won't pay full price for that again but definitely will the moment I see it on sale. No issues paying the same of Metro Redux though because it will be 2 games in one.

Just went into EB with my PS3 and 360 slims, all the games for each and 5 PS4 games I won't play anymore. Worked out to $941 lol I'm only a level 2 EB World member so imagine a level 4. So I grabbed the xbone bundle with kinect, BF4, Watch Dogs (already got these on PS4 so I'll just trade them in next week), Titanfall (already have it on PC), Forza, then I also got play and charge kit, 12 month sub to live gold, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse, and then Wolfenstein for PS4. All that and managed to also walk out with a $180 gift voucher  :lol

Yeah I'll probably wait it out for NBA 2k15 instead of paying still pretty decent coin for a game that will have a new one in a couple months. Hoping they bring out a good Rugby Union game. Have always enjoyed them and even the bad ones, unlike rugby league live which I paid good money for and was left pretty disappointed.

Not a bad return at all for the EB trade in hahaha. Got two xbox 360's here and a ps3, might have to consider a trade in  ;D

Good idea on NBA 2k. Unlike EA, 2K tend do something different and better each time. The step up from 13 to 14 was unreal, hope they beef it up again for 15. Even if you can borrow 2k14 though in the mean time to check out the graphics, probably the best looking console game to date.

Since your old consoles are slims you might be able to pick up a xbone for nothing if you're into having both consoles for the sake of it. I'm predominately PS but not discriminate and refuse to miss out on good exclusives so I didn't like the idea of putting heaps of money on a console that will mostly sit there doing nothing so trading everything in that I was never going to play again just made sense.

The trade in deals for the xbone at EB for $398 (Forza, Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4 I think is the combo, and no kinect) and $498 (kinect plus those games and Titanfall) are because they're giving $100 instead of $80 or 90 for the slims. Since my PS3 was the 250GB slim we used that one in the deal and then they chucked the 10% on because of the level2 card making it $110, and my 360 was the 320GB slim so I got $132. It was $11 for controllers, 16.50 for my old kinect. They want the power and control (ps3) charging chords as well as the AV cables. I chucked my original 360 AV cable in but forgot about doing the same for the PS3 so they just docked $5 for not having an AV or HDMI with it. Games wise going through the receipt the cheapest trade in was 1.50, but then stuff like BF3 they gave 3.50 and Batman Arkham City was $8. Even Uncharted 2 and Dragon Age which are pretty ancient were nearly 4 bucks. Some of my newer sports games and stuff like GTA V were over $15. Average somewhere between 4 and 6. Thought it was odd though that they gave $22 for NHL14 (ps3 obviously) yet $25 for PS4 CoD Ghosts, Thief, and Infamous SS, yet I got $55 for my Lego games ;D

So if you want just use that as a guide and see what you have and if you think it's worthwhile trading in all your stuff and picking up an xbone for nothing. I was pretty attached to my old consoles and games for a long time but I'm never ever going to play any of them again so I just bit the bullet and took them in.

Yeah might see if a mate will let me borrow it once I finish WD's. That'll keep me busy for a while. Mmmm yeah I don't think I can get rid of my ps3 yet, especially when I still sometimes go back to play some of my old sport games on it. Might have to think about the 360 though since I never use it except for DVD's :lol. But the xbone will probably be similar although if I don't really have to pay as much it might be worth it.

Speaking of WD's bugs I had my first one yesterday. Went to go into the shipping container that takes you to your base and he decided to just walk through the door but then he couldn't get out. He'd use his phone to "open" the door but it wouldn't open and he'd just walk into the door turn around and stand in the container :banghead

I finally finished Watch Dogs last night. Story, convoys, fixer contracts, intervention, hideouts and all the investigations. Only left out the last couple drinking games because they were frustrating and some online stuff. So two gold and a heap of silver trophies  ;D game is ridden with bugs and not polished enough after an 8 month delay. Wasn't overly impressed but I think I squeezed a fair bit out of it so can't complain in that regard.

I decided to splurge the rest of my EB voucher on a vertical stand for the ps4 because it was getting cluttered with the xbox, and the ear force xo seven headset for the xbone.. even though I already have a px51 headset for the ps4 I didn't want to stuff around changing cables and re-pairing lol. Not many excuses to play the xbone yet though. I really want to dive into Wolfenstein and Tomb Raider (again) for ps4 because feels like a waste with the xbox sitting there. Might power through Ryse first because it's short, looks pretty and has a heap of average reviews meaning I won't need to play it again. Good idea to wait if you don't have enough to trade in yet to get one for nothing if you're not going to play it as much like me, but on the other hand your stuff is only going to keep going down in value. As much as I wanted to hold onto GTA V, The Last of Us and NHL 14, what was the point if my ps3 was packed away never to come out again? That was my justification.

Last night downloaded and installed Forza 5 but haven't played it yet. Just stuck in Ryse from the disc... Xbox One install times are ridiculous compared to PS4. Just looked it up on Google to see if it were a problem and was reading some comparisons of the same games taking 9 minutes to install on Xbone compared to 42 seconds on PS4. derp.

Ok gamer geeks, PS4 or Xbox one?

Have heard the PS4 is more powerful and gets a better graphics boost hence the new version xbox ones are coming without Kinect.

Have always been an xbox fanboi but am leaning towards PS4

Not a great deal of difference really TM. If you have mates that play get the same ones as them or compare the planned list of exclusives and see what you prefer. At this stage Xbox One will have the usual Forza and Halo off the top of my head, where as the PS4 will have Uncharted 4 etc. Both will have all the same and identically performing sports games. There are already Xbone packages without Kinect bundled that will save you a bit of coin. If you have a 360 slim or PS3 slim you will be able to trade it in at EB for $100 if it's an older one instead of the 80 or 90 they would normally offer, or they'll give you the better value price if it's a newer type (for example they gave me $132 for my 320gb 360 slim). At the moment at EB there is currently a couple bundles if you do that console trade in. With a slim trade in you can pick up the Xbone with 3 games and NO kinect for $398. Really awesome deal IMO and a steal if you aren't going to play your old console anymore. As long as it is a slim though. Don't think there is a similar PS4 deal at the moment seeing as Microsoft have had to go early in this regard due to Sony blowing them away in sales. As for what's under the hood yes you're right in that the PS4 is slightly more powerful and at this stage some developers have said they are finding it easier to work with and can squeeze more juice out of, but it's early stage and I bet in a couple years there will be bugger all difference. What this means is that the less powerful console will just hold back the potential of the same game on the more powerful one since developers try to streamline development. It's the exclusives where first party developers will push the respective consoles to their limits. As far as I know a PS4 will still set you back $549 and that is just the basic console package (of course trade your old gear into EB and take a chunk off that price).

I'm not necessarily a PS fanboy but have always been a little more PS inclined (always follow PS news, sub to the Aussie PS mag etc) but have always owned an Xbox as well because I'm a gamer first, fanboy second. There hasn't been much reason to own both consoles to date so I only got my Xbone the other day and haven't had a big play around yet. Just personally I don't find the Xbone dashboard as user friendly as PS4's or even the old 360 one for that matter, and the real cheapo bluray drive they put in to keep the cost down is really obvious when it comes to install times. In the PS4 you can stick a game in and wait no more than a minute for it to install to the HDD. The Xbone you need to stick it in and go do something else for a while. I know it's novelty as developers don't care about it, but the Xbone's Kinect is pretty high tech stuff. Mine is set that it recognises my face and will log me into my account. It also needs my face to verify online purchases and things like download tokens and Xbox live sub that have a serial printed on them that you normally enter to activate also come with a QR code and it takes all of 1 second to flash the QR in front of the Kinect and it registers the product. Awesome stuff.

Keep in mind that Sony have also switched to a subscription for online content like Microsoft. 12 months of PS+ will set you back about $65 and I think it's around the same for 12 months of Xbox live gold.

Yeah I reckon if I had my time again I'd still buy it. Still worth the 50-60 odd dollars but well below the hype and expectations.

Yeah the downgrading of value is the only issue for me but I'm still getting some worth out of the ps3 so I don't want to part with that.

Without having the Xbox, I haven't been disappointed with the PS4 and as always a xbox fan boy until not to long ago.
On the kinect thing I don't know if I misheard but I think someone said the kinect takes up X% of functional power but without it that power doesn't even get used. Can't remember where I heard it so can't search it for verification

PS4 has released bundles but not sure about with trade ins. The ps+ annoyed me though as I always used ps3 more cause of the free online. Although on WD's I can still do the online hacking and I haven't got ps+ yet (will wait until I have a game that's worth getting online for)

cheers dwaino, a bit to weigh up. I have a 360 slim so likely to do a trade-in. The eb trade in deal looks like the bomb  :thumbsup. Im not really massively into any of the exclusives to the point where I'd pick one over the other based on it, moreso looking at the gaming quality overall. Like you said though, in a year or 2 there'll likely be nothing in it as developers work it out.

Theres a fair difference in size of consoles, ps would be easier to move around and take on holiday/friends etc, and I like the fact it loads a lot quicker.

On the other hand, like what you said about the Kinect. Further to that, as home entertainment gear, the xbone seems to have it over ps? and yep I already have xbox live gold sub.

As I understand it, youre right regarding the Kinect power thing, removing it wont do anything extra for current games. The way it can be utilised is with developers enabling their future games to get more out of the console.

One massive issue with the Xbone is that much more of the RAM is put aside for the operating system than the PS4 does. The Xbone is behaving a lot like Windows 8 in that there are tiles, and once you open stuff like settings, friends lists, games and apps tabs, and then a game, all those processes remain active until you manually close them. While it has memory set aside to do these things it seems like a waste and surely sucks some performance power from the games. There PS4 behaves like the PS3 in that trophies, friends, parties etc are built into the dashboard so you won't be opening a new tile/tab, and if you want to start another process it won't let you unless you close the game or whatever it is you are doing.

Physically the Xbone is a monster, about as big as an old school VHS player. Microsoft aren't taking any chances this time an entire half of the top of the case is set aside for cooling and there are large vents all along the side. In my man cave my Xbone sits on a table next to the TV, I don't think I would like to chuck it in an enclosed slot like in an entertainment unit. The PS4 on the other hand is slimmer and feels a little more robust. The PS4 can be put vertical with a stand and saves a lot of space. A mate at work isn't a massive gamer but likes to play, but he uses his Xbone as his media hub, connected to his computer and an external drive to play movies and stuff and by the sounds of it does the job pretty well.

At this stage if I had to recommend one over the other I think I would have to say the PS4. Like their new motto says, it really does seem more "for the gamers." But if you got an Xbone honestly it's never ever going to ever be a problem or seem underwhelming. For anyone that doesn't care either or, then just decide with your wallet.
