Yes NT
Also, FIFA is the biggest waste of money out there. Might as well keep your money and play an old version. Yawn fest.
Except for when you do Ultimate Team, online pro and comps
It does seem like they rebadge the same game every year, but usually there are some pretty impressive tweaks and slider profile upgrades. They developed the engine years ago and just keep working on it. Games always recycle engines, you can't just build a new one every game. Often an engine will take twice as long to develop as a game. A trap that Naughty Dog and Rockstar admit they fell into with their recent games (The Last of Us and GTA5). They both said they should have just used their previous capable engines that they developed in house. This year from FIFA 13 to 14 on current gen it almost just is a copy-paste job, but it has been put on a new engine for next gen. More various and complex animations, physics and ball control. Goes orrite
The CoDs are a different story but. Generally they're nothing more than an overpriced DLC that they're flogging off as a new game. I always made sure to grab a new Modern Warfare when it came out because I honestly don't think Infinity Ward do a bad job, but I'm not a big fan of Treyarch as a developer and the Blops games really show their lack of polish. Since I held out on Ghosts until PS4 (got a copy of Ghosts for PS4 sitting beside me atm though
) I'm yet to try it, but I'm currently optimistic since it's on a new engine, developed by Infinity Ward, and in glorious 1080p at 60fps. I hope Activision don't plan on keep pumping out CoD games every 12 months like they are with two different developers working on a different series each (takes about 2 years to develop each one).
EA made some comments last week trying to take a dig at Activision and CoD, by saying that Battlefield won't be an annual thing. Everyone was quick to remind them that they don't seem to have an issue putting out a new FIFA, Madden and NHL every year
. Lots of fear at the moment online that since NBA Live 14 was such a flop that EA might just try and buy the NBA license, like they did NFL, since they can't seem to beat 2K fair and square. Fingers crossed 2K muscle in on the NFL when the agreement between EA and the NFL ends so we can finally have a decent football game.
No... I don't have anything in life besides video games
