Freo would be least of my worries, there will be clubs alot closer to home interested in. A 2 x coleman medalist, alas he ll sign soon. There's generally a fair attraction to playing at the G most weeks n front of 60k crowds :shh

If its a salary cap concern then the answer s simple.

Trade Grigg. free up 350k, use that on Dusty and Jack.

Failing that, i would dangle Jack to GWS

Cant remember who said it but players generally stalling contracts are ones that are playing regular finals.

This is the RFC Jack sign the thing or FO

Jack to GWS for Pick 1

Pick 1 and Shane Edwards (from SA) for Patrick Dangerfield. Adelaide are our mates. They'll do the deal.

Not on your life Pope.  If we got Pick 1 this year I wouldn't trade it for anyone.

Gun key forwards don't grow on tress.

What's your solution? Mcgaune?

X2, I love the half wits that say to trade him, unreal, Collingwood would be stuffed without Cloke and we would be the same without Jack. So what he hasn't kicked bags of goals this year, well guess what, they don't want him doing that.

Just stupid to contemplate trading him.
Don't think its a kicking goals thing, more his attitude people aren't liking

BTW am I the only one shocked at Cotch taking $800,000 :gobdrop

If he won't sign for less than what we are ultimately prepared to pay, it forces the clubs hand to seek a trade.

Doesn't matter if we contemplate trading him or not.

Serious question

Are you shocked that we are supposedly paying him that much (ie over paying)?

Or shocked in that you think we've signed him up cheaper than market value?

Over paying. Or more so getting about his market value and then crapping on about players needing to make sacrifices lol

Reckon that's just over what his worth at least at this stage of his career as he has only had half a year worth $800,000 but mainly I didn't think anyone would be on that sort of money with the club talking about sacrifices etc. Maybe I underestimate how much the minimum salary cap(about 95% isn't it?) actually equates to.

yeah the club must pay 95% of the salary cap which comes to$8.863mil

From: http://oneeyed-richmond.com/forum/index.php?topic=18090.msg375533#msg375533

"Salary cap this season is $9.14mil and clubs must pay 95% of it = $8.863mil.
"

If the number Cotch is supposedly getting is that high and I'm always weary of journos and their guessing I must say I am slightly miffed that it is that high, for the reason tigs2011 said, that is sprouting about players needing to make sacrifices to stay together and then not look like you've done it yourself. Doubt the Club asked him to take a cut   ;D :rollin

 And who would be better?
No one including Skunks supporters gave too much of a poo when the Cloke rumors were going around, I said all along they would be screwed without him and reckon they would be still and he plays as a true full forward.
Jack plays a more versatile role.
Yeah he needs to lift especially on the weekends efforts but in the big picture, well a lot here seem to have a woody for Jay so have included down to him below.

Gold Coast copied Norf and tried to stack the back half then run and carry, Frementle are the masters of this and we as a team have struggled with this tactic.
Reckon Hardwick will need to bite the bullet at some stage and send him to true full forward and force Freo to leave him one out by having players back with him.
Vickergirl needs to do a bit more to help also
