exactly. it is a small community and if they set a bad precedent they will be the ones who cop it in the future. They are the club that more to lose than any if they say stuff it, the gloves are off.

There is a reason that no club has convinced a player to walk straight into the PSD draft, it is a scum act, and most people with half a brain understand that what goes around comes around.

If they set a precedent here, any club that finishes last in future years will have no qualms about doing the same to GWS to get some of these top kids back to their home state.

Imagine the incentive of finishing last if it gave you a free pick of a top 10 draft pick with 3-4 years of development under their belt? It would be a greater incentive to tank than has ever existed.

It would get to a point where the AFL would have to either scrap the pre season draft or somehow take an intervention in any potential player trade. Which is why even if GWS did want to go down that path, the AFL would veto it, as they are the owners of GWS.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

GWS have to trade, they have already shown that they are interested by showing Martin through the caravan.

If they don't make an approach during trade week and then pick up Dusty in the PSD the AFL will hit them with draft tampering. They can't say we were interested before trade week, then we weren't, now we are again.

They will try and low ball us with their trade offer, no doubt, but if it is too unreasonable the AFL will mediate a fair outcome, nothing surer.

The fact the AFL own them and will be paying Buddy a large chunk of his salary, the Giants will play how the AFL want them to play.

Gerard Healy on 3AW last night said Collingwood has tabled a 3 year deal worth 1.2M for Taylor Adams.

Maybe if we offer GWS Martin plus a (Thornbury/Northcote) Croxton Roosters franchise in which his best mate can be operations manager, and we get Adam's plus Patton or an early pick.  :thumbsup

Win, Win if you Arks me!

Well since my last post, GWS have now declared they are not interested in Martin. So now taking dusty out of the equation, how do we now snare Adams? I can't see GWS wanting 11 so who from our current list would GWS want? Foley perhaps?

As already mentioned tiga, Foley was re-signed mid-season for 3 years. Can't see him as an option and even if they offered him for trade he has to agree and don't think he would

What about Tyrone?   :rollin

Could we be lucky enough to get Adams and pick 10 or even 19 for him?

I certainly had a chuckle at the thought of it  :lol Knowing Dimma, and his 'favourites', he'd decline such an offer if it was made!

contacted players can be traded and foley was also dropped for the elimination final, which probably would have been something most would have said would not happen earlier in the year.

if we want addams we have to give up something of note, and i cant think of too many other players that would go close to what GWS want that we would be willing to let go. I've even got doubts that foley would fit the bill.
