"But Carlton is out of the race for Taylor Adams, with the highly-rated GWS youngster telling them he will now either stay with the Giants or cross to Collingwood or Geelong."

Interesting that we were his preferred club when it looked like Dusty was going and now that dusty has re-signed, he doesn't want anything to do with us......

i see a difference in 50-75k between Grigg's income(approx 350k) and what will be enough to lure one of these 2.

Get Grigg out of his contract, sell him off or just leave him at the dingley tip, and use his money plus another 50k to lure one of these 2 on a 4 year deal.

Time to think outside the square and ask yourself what purpose does Grigg have in this football club and what value will one of these 2 bring in.

answer is pretty simple if you ask me.

If only it was that simple  ::)

I have said numerous times I would trade him, wouldn't have given him a new contract but they did

Facts are the only way he goes is if we trade him. That's the only way you get rid of his contract

And seeing they re-signed him only a coupe of months ago I reckon blind Freddie can see that he isn't going to be traded for kids like Adams or Shiel.

The only thing that would possibly get him traded is if GWS offered pick 1 for him and GWS aren't that stupid  ;D

I would trade him for Savage, straight swap. Richmond clearly wins on trade and we would pay Savage less saving money on  the cap.

AFL website tonight still linking us along with the Pies and Blues to Adams.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the most highly sought after names in the trade period will be Greater Western Sydney's Taylor Adams. Collingwood is very keen on the 20-year-old who has played 31 matches in two seasons with the Giants. He has also attracted interest from Carlton and Richmond.

If you want players like this at your club you may have to pay overs. Pick your target Tigers and get it done. Delist a couple of duds and the jobs done.
Would rather him and two first year kids on the list than Nahas, Astbury and Batchelor. It would cost you the less too. The only difference is one or maybe two would be playing in the seniors as opposed the those clowns running around in the twos.

Geelong looms large as a possible suitor for Greater Western Sydney midfielder Taylor Adams

    Scott Gullan and Sam Edmund
    From: Herald Sun
    October 05, 2013

TAYLOR Adams will decide over the weekend which Victorian club is his preferred destination.

The GWS hard nut met with Geelong on Wednesday with the Cats looming large as a team capable of getting a deal done now that they have put Grand Final hero Travis Varcoe on the trade table.

Adams has been pursued strongly by Collingwood who want to include him in a deal which would see disgruntled defender Heath Shaw move to the Giants.

Richmond and Melbourne have also spoken to Adams but the Cats would appear to have an ace in the pack given the 20-year-old grew up in Geelong and played with the Falcons.

Adams’ manager, Winston Rous from Phoenix Management Group, said he expected a decision to be made over the weekend ahead of Monday’s official start of trade week.

Varcoe, the hero of the Cats 2011 premiership victory, played 15 games this season but struggled with foot and shoulder injuries.

With GWS desperate to get their hands on some quality experienced players, the 25-year-old, who is contracted for next year, would be an ideal acquisition.

Adams, who was pick No.13 in the 2011 national draft, has played 31 games for the Giants and averaged more than 20 possessions this season.

Same as Sydney, the Pies, Hawks and even the Blues manage to hang in there year after  year. We have to start attracting better players to Punt Road annually instead of topping up with average talent.

Correct

I laugh at WP's comments where it was mentioned Adams or Shiel ain't worth 400K

Well a lot of the players I want traded out are on 300-350, so squeeze one of them out

Hawks got Burgoyne with a high pick and that spud Williams.

If cats get the deal done with Varcoe then we have failed by not offering anyone up.

I laugh at some of the  comments here.

How the hell do we know any of this stuff is fact?

Some hack reports it in a newspaper?   Doesnt cut it for me.

Lets just see what goes down, we will never really know what happens behind closed doors. Im not going to go off at the Club if we dont get Adams as there are far to many factors in play to do that.

This doesnt mean the club shouldnt be trying, just means we will never know how hard things are pushed.
