i have $100.00 that says we dont mnake the 8 next season. im prepared to donate it to the jdf  or ftf anyone else want to put up.

i will say again. while we have improved the lis, t we have not built anything that is sustainable. we are a long way of top 4 and are in a log jam to make finals with about 12  14  other teams.
there is plenty wrong with our list and if we fail to vigorously recruit and develop thinking the work has been done, we will fail abysmally.

we are in a national competition that has basically turned professional with just 18 teams all aiming for the same thing. i reckon most massively overlook the competition and what has to constantly happen just to improve.

Deal, I'm in claw. I'll put up $100 against that.

I sometimes get puzzled at these types of posts. It's like it's a what if scenario, what if they don't keep improving the list? What if they dont delist list cloggers?  What makes you think we will just stop what we've been doing for the past 3-4 years? The consistent msg I keep hearing both internally and externally is we must get better. This is not the bad old days where we will trade out of the draft to top up bc we're 'locked and loaded'. We are building and will continue to build and strive to become a legitimate top side. Yes, I agree if we stopped doing what we've done to get to here then yes, this would not be sustainable and we'd get passed by several clubs pretty quickly, but I see nothing to suggest we will just go off track and stagnate. We are a vastly different nd more resourced club these days and that is only going to continue to grow.

Yep and I'm sure the-powers that be at the club know exactly where we sit.
Yes we have made the finals that I would say at least is a step in the right direction for a club that was as worse or worse than the Fitzroy in DHs first year.

I think you sometimes sell short the people running club especially people of the calibre of BG and etc.
They know there is still much too improve on, just like the other 12 to 14 teams that you proclaim sit in the same stage that we do.

I would hazard a guess some of those 12 to 14 teams that you lumped us in haven't come as far back as us in the last 4 years.

I'm enjoying the ride this year and I expect an even better one next year because for the first time the club has got their act together off field.

Like your posts Claw but sometimes you can be such a Debbie Downer mate.

Id be more interested in knowing how we replace 22 players in two years with quality.

The talent pool for the next two drafts much run pretty deep!

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

It was an insipid loss.

Insipid losses inevitably result in a WAT thread about the sky falling in or us being a non deserving weak club, or something like that.

I waited, and bingo, here it is.

Next week, we will beat GWS, who cares.
Week after we will beat Essendon, they are gone and it will prove nothing.

If we happen to win a final the week after potentially in a rematch against Essendon or Carlton, he will inevitably start some sort of positive "i told you all" thread regarding some player that performed well.

Or post 17 "i told you all" posts in already existing threads.

LOL, WAT
