the AFL is completely contrived and as an aside, Roos is a flog  :cheers
He's talking about trading the 'priority pick' (if granted) for 2 top players....now tell me he hasn't been given a ;) from Don Demetriou ::)
Give them Foley and Jackson.

AFL, the only comp in the world that encourages poorly run organisations to spend it like its tattslotto money bc they'll just come in and fix it all up for them.

If they give them a PP, on top of all the handouts they are continually given, they can all GAGF.

Agreed what will pi$$ me of will be if in 3 years time they are in finals thanks to the tanking and all the help and the fact that on field statistically they were worse than us at our lowest ebb in 2009, yet we have had to scrap for everything. Sure when we succeed it will be sweeter but the rules just keep on changing to suit whatever issue seems to be forefront.
Garbage competition.

Maybe we should ask for retrospective priority picks for 2 finals series in 30 years? Imagine the squad we could build... :shh

It's hard to see Roos turning the Dees around in just two years. When he got the Sydney gig, he inherited a side that had a strong culture, consistently played finals more often than not and was well resourced by the AFL paying over the cap due to the Sydney-living allowance. If the Dees are still a long way from being a finals contender and haven't solved their culture problem after Roos' term has ended which is the more likely possibility then the club is back to handing control to an inexperienced coach.

Melbourne are like a star. They long ago ran out of hydrogen and started to collapse. The big guns are now out and in a last ditch effort will look big and bright, burning through that helium, before they ultimately go pop and fade away as the piddly little dwarf that they are.

Roos won't stuff this up.  He's nofool.  I bet they clear out 14 guys this year and 10-12 the next though.

Yeah but Roos gets a lot of credit for turning around the culture of the Swans that was actually initiated by Barrassi and Paul Kelly and was more player driven than anything he did himself.

Peter Jackson is also no Richard Colless

"He led the club to it’s first premiership in 72 years. He helped establish the Bloods culture, he is on a pedestal at the Swans and I’m unbelievably disappointed in his actions.
"I consider taking players from the academy he has helped build is an absolute breach of protocol and a gentleman’s agreement.
