Maybe it's just the loss against the blues but unlike Vlastuin, Ellis didn't really do a great deal to try and get us back in the game. but then again not many players did.

Maybe that's simply because Cartoon rated Ellis higher than Vlastuin and was willing to let Nick of the leash a little but sat on Brandon.

Throughout the season I believe Ellis has bee a more important and damaging player than Vlastuin. Nothing against Nick , you'd expect a first year player to be less influential.

True. They placed the hard tag on him in Rnd 21. Don't know how Vlastuin would cope with the hard tag so I do concur that Ellis does get a bit more attention. Which isn't a bad thing, maybe Ellis will learn how to break a hard tag and become a real weapon for us.

Maybe Deledio can give him a few of those techniques he was talking about

Helbig can play
they can both run and kick they can also both defend if the need arises.
mcintosh a bit like birchell but with a more defensive set to his game.
ive been saying for a while now the place for helbig to grow is off hb.  tough quick hard at it does defend well  and does use the ball well.

sml what are you on about.
4 players above 190cm..   the shortest player  at 185cm.  size wise it competes with most the lightest player  being  morris who is expected to go with quick smalls.
yet in one way i agree i reckon our other kpd could have some extra size or  specifically weight strenth.

when grimes finally gets there he will play at about 92 kg when mcintosh gets there he will play at 92kg. yes atm they both have some work to do. but they arent far off.
putting on size weight and strength is not about flicking some magical switch. it takes yrs and a lot of hard work.

personally unlike most i still think the weak link in the backline especially down the track will be rance. he is not a good one on one defender i repeat he is not a good one on one defender.

Few VERY wishfull entries there. The entire forward line have played 1 game between them up to this point. I think that's a 2016/18 lineup to be honest. Not that I dislike the look of it

Morris - Grimes - Chaplin
 Houli  - ARance - Ellis
Vlastuin - Deledio - #11
McBean - Riewoldt - Cotchin.
Martin - Vickery - Knights
 Maric -Conca - Jackson
 Hampson - Foley - SEdwards - arnot

Emg:  mcdonough. McIntosh  helbig/idea
.?

The two rucks and subbing one seems to in Vogue

No doubt hard wick will be trying to squeeze in pettard grigg lonergan somewhere. The coach likrs king and Newman too. So it'll be interesting to see what is the believd strongest line up. First up and over the course of the season

Will top up and neglect youth again?

I like the concept of riewoldt-vickery-griffiths-mcbean in the same team.  You would expect one of those latter two would drop out if hamoson is selected.
