This is the problem with RFC that holds the club back for over 30 years.
Players who are constantly injured over a few years. Clearly their bodies are not up to the rigors of AFL football.
David Astbury,  Ben Griffiths,  Chris Knights,  Jake King.
Players who have come to Richmond with a history of injury or have arrived & spent alot of time off the field. You got to cut loose guys who don't give anything to the club over a period is no benefit to the club or the playing list.
l reckon Knights will retire at seasons end & we have got nothing. Griffith has given nothing & Astbury is the same. Kingy is a player who will give 100% & from over doing it will always be injured or suspended & to me as much as l like this bloke & his courage. If he dont have a good season next year then we have recruited poorly over the last few years.

the days of the courageous hard hitting & guts players is gone. Weeded out by the pace of the game or mostly by the laws of the game & how it is interpreted which takes the likes of Kingy out of today's modern game. It also affects the types of Cotchin who is a known player for diving into the hard contest which the laws are a blight on the game & many are trying to get some of these rules abolished as they are just plain stupid rules. Our great game is under the threat of becoming a soft sport to suit the likes of a former Essendon player ;D

You gotta have faith in your players though. Astbury has shown he could be one of our most important players if he stays healthy. Griffiths has the potential as well. Geelong has stuck by Menzel after 3 knee recos now I think? maybe even 4. I agree with Knights though purely because he isn't good enough anyway. Not worth the hassle since he is getting old now.

These guys were injury riddled before being drafted. Griffiths was HIGH RISK & everyone knew it. Knights well that was just a throw away pick. Would have been better to draft a nodody kid. Footballers are lucky to have a career span 10 seasons. Shane Edwards has been at the club what 8 years & produced how many good game  ;D He is worthless. Griffiths has been at the club a few years now & has produced 1 solid performance. Any Tom Dick & Harry can produce 1 good game at some time. refer to Shedwards. Inspector Gadget gets more out of his body at 40 years old. Brent Harvey produces more of a threat at his age. Brian Lake, can win a Norm Smith at the end of his career. No excuses down at Tigerland.

Arm waving, pointing and one-way running is now considered "work"?
