How good was that! I thought we were gone when Ponting got out with still 4 overs left to go and only Lee and McGrath batting but in the word's of an ex-footy coach they "stuck fat" lol.

Poor old Tony Grieg and Boycott. They were so cocky and certain England would win all day laughing in the background with every wicket. Now they must be completely shattered . Even another dodgy LBW decision couldn't get England the win.

Aussies will regroup over the 9 day break and kick some backside now  .

About the only positive for the Aussies was Tait's second spell and the rain interruptions. Sheesh 22 no balls and more dropped catches  . Hayden is having a shocker of a tour and what was Ponting doing only giving Warne 6 overs  ???.

How dodgy has the umpiring been?! 10 incorrent LBW decisions in 3 and half tests and all against the Aussies  . Sheesh and I thought AFL umpiring was bad  .

Australia need to make ~500 runs to have a chance. Effectively need 3 batsmen to make triple figures. Most of them are due, but its not going to happen.

Clarke and Tiger supporter Katich still there after a 61 run partnership. It should have been even better if Ponting and Martyn had gone for that stupid suicide run out but it could have been worse as Clarke would have been out stumped if the pommy keeper took the ball cleanly.

We have been the beneficiaries of some very poor umpiring decisions over the years - so it seems now it's our tunr to cop the dodgy ones.

The best umpire in world cricket today is Simon Taufel (sp?) and he is an Aussie so he cannot umpire this game or any other that we play in and that's dumb. Best umpries should stand in test matches not blokes who aren't up to it. No direspect to Steve Bucknor but his time has passed and he is doing cricket alot of damage at the monet wi his guesses

As for the Aussie's - IMO they don't deserve to win they played really stupid cricket on Friday night. Poor bowling and poor fielding.

As for Hayden - like Steve Bucknor it's time. Has to be dropped he has become a liability.

We are paying dearly at the moment for not bringing any kids through. If we drop Hayden who are we going to open with? Hodge? that's not fair on Hodge

Bit tough on Martyn though I think. Once he gets away from Bucknor it's unlikely he'll keep getting triggered LBW for hitting the ball.

Once again Warne and Lee show they've been the only Aussies in form and displaying the right intensity all series. We've played so poorly that it never should have gotten that close. If they had played the whole series like they did today the Aussies wouldn't be 2-1 down. We've got to hope that we win the toss in the last test and make a big score to put some pressure back on England. It's going to be a flat track as the poms only need to draw.

That's true WP. The kiwis copped some shockers the last time we played them that it was embarrassing. Either way it's not right. Umpires are human so you tolerate a couple of poor decisions in a series but 13 incorrect LBWs  (12 against the Aussies and 1 against England) in the past 3 tests is ridiculous. Thankfully Bucknor won't be umpiring at the Oval.

That's 3 tests in a row where he's called for a suicide single - fortunately in the previous 2 tests Peitersen missed the stumps.
