Tiger Knights suffers setback Brent Diamond

March 30, 2014 RIichmond midfielder Chris Knights suffered a setback in his return from a knee injury in a VFL practice match against Essendon at the True Value Solar Centre in Tullamarine on Saturday.
The former Crow has shown encouraging form in the VFL practice matches, and the injury is a blow to his hopes of an immediate return.
Knights made a promising start to his career at Richmond last year before tearing the patella tendon of his right knee in round seven.
Tigers VFL coach Tim Clarke said he was hopeful Knights’ injury was only soreness.
Clarke appeared more concerned with a knee injury to forward Aaron Edwards and an ankle injury to Liam McBean, who kicked four goals before hurting his lower leg.
''They [Edwards and McBean] both needed help leaving the ground,” he said.
The trio will have scans to determine their injuries.
In better news for the Tigers, best-and-fairest Daniel Jackson was impressive in his second practice match hitout and is a chance to return from a hamstring injury against the Western Bulldogs next week.
''[Damien Hardwick] was very keen to get him back against Carlton [on Thursday night], so I would assume now, with another run under his belt, he’s going to be pushing his name right up there for selection,” Clarke said.
