Quick ball movement and leg speed are two different things. Don't get why people think one can replace the other. Both are important.
Hang on Willy, this discussion earlier in the season was all about our lack of leg speed and how our lack of it was a major contributor to where we were at. I always said that leg speed was over rated and what was more important was the way you move the ball.
Last I checked there was no injection of serious pace in the side at 3-10 so i'd say improving ball movement is pretty much the sole contributor of the two.
I agree that quicker ball movement has been a catalyst for our turnaround. But that doesn't mean we wouldn't be even better with greater leg speed. My point is that both are important and one cannot mask the other. When Hawthorn are exposed they are exposed through their lack of leg speed in the guts, ie. Geelong's first half on the weekend.
If Cotch had a bit more toe he might have caught Hannebury instead of being resigned to shoving him as he kicked.
Line-breakers are important and we need more of them.
