And play with some actual balls. Play direct football. Put your opponents under pressure by forcing a contest.

When you move the ball quickly and play on you are no longer slow :)

Told yas footspeed was overrated okay?  :shh

Players haven't magically become sub 11sec 100 metre runners over the past 9 weeks, so whats changed?

Quick and direct ball movement is and always will be king - sure, elite footspeed can be the icing on the cake but fast ball movement will get you to 90% of the journey.

you're welcome

Maybe so but I'd rather have a few linebreakers than none and you still need legspeed when you haven't got the ball.

Quick ball movement and leg speed are two different things. Don't get why people think one can replace the other. Both are important.

Hang on Willy, this discussion earlier in the season was all about our lack of leg speed and how our lack of it was a major contributor to where we were at. I always said that leg speed was over rated and what was more important was the way you move the ball.

Last I checked there was no injection of serious pace in the side at 3-10 so i'd say improving ball movement is pretty much the sole contributor of the two.

I agree that quicker ball movement has been a catalyst for our turnaround.  But that doesn't mean we wouldn't be even better with greater leg speed. My point is that both are important and one cannot mask the other. When Hawthorn are exposed they are exposed through their lack of leg speed in the guts, ie. Geelong's first half on the weekend.
If Cotch had a bit more toe he might have caught Hannebury instead of being resigned to shoving him as he kicked.
Line-breakers are important and we need more of them.

More so when a team like wce plays the press high and  with intelligences

Are we one of the quicker sides  :huh

Looked out of options for breaking down the defensive tactics for mine.

Not fast enough to run though itnot skilled enough to kick to the other side

They also happen to be the least fast
