Not sure if you've noticed or not but Ivan hasn't been anywhere near the same player for a couple of seasons now.Hopefully some other clubs also haven't noticed. I'd put his name up..

Maric has more leadership than those two you mention even if they had 100 footy careers.

Magic whatever you are on tonight pass it over I'm feeling mellow.

Yep mentioned it last year, but he was noticeably better than Hampson in just his second game back from injury. You'd be silly to trade our only AFL standard ruckman

David Mundy would be a prefect fit for Richmond: Dunstall
« Reply #79 on: June 25, 2014, 01:41:53 PM »
FREMANTLE midfielder David Mundy is adamant his unresolved contract status won’t grow into a distraction, saying he’ll weigh up football and family factors before making a final call on his AFL future.

Mundy is at the peak of his powers and will be in hot demand if he decides to test the market as a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

Family ties could persuade the 28-year-old Victorian to finish his career at a Melbourne-based club on a lucrative three or four-year deal.

AFL great Jason Dunstall said Mundy would be a perfect recruit for Richmond, who have endured a spectacular fall from grace since finishing fifth last year.

But Fremantle remain in the box seat to retain his services. Not only is the club in premiership mode, but Mundy’s wife is a West Australian.

However, complicating matters is the uncertainty surrounding Nat Fyfe’s new deal.

Fyfe has already declared he wants to stay at Fremantle, but the terms of his contract are yet to be nutted out.

Mundy is likely to wait until Fyfe’s deal is sorted before making a call on his own future.

Carlton and the Western Bulldogs are among the clubs pursuing out-of-contract young Greater Western Sydney key defender Kristian Jaksch, trying to persuade the Victorian to return home.

Several Victorian clubs have shown strong interest in Jaksch, with Hawthorn also rating the young key back highly as a potential replacement for the veteran premiership player Brian Lake.

------------------------------------------

Pacy midfielder Dylan Shiel heads that list of players whom Victorian clubs are pursuing.

Shiel, who is contracted until the end of 2015, is regarded as the most accomplished of the players yet to re-sign with the Giants and clubs are hopeful of persuading him to return home in a similar trade to the one that enabled Dom Tyson return to Melbourne to play with the Demons this year.

Shiel’s girlfriend is the daughter of Richmond assistant coach – and former Giants coach – Mark Williams, and so his name is invariably linked with a move to Punt Road.

------------------------------------------

Several clubs eagerly await the next move by out-of-contract Demons defender James Frawley. A former All-Australian, Frawley has put off talks with Melbourne until the end of the year, heightening speculation he may choose to leave the club.

If we're not front and square for Jaksch, Shiels and any other giant/sun coming out of contract...

We mentioned that in another thread if we don't go for talented disgruntled GC and GWS players and Hartley brings us el cheapos from established clubs. :help
Time the club just did something properly rather than the half baked cheapo solutions they come up with in bringing players to the club and once they half fill a need provide a 3 year overpriced contract to them.

A few weeks ago Dan Richardson made a comment about "bringing forward" their free agency strategy by a year.
I take it that this means the will want/need to land a big fish for credibility/membership/list improvement reasons.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

Fyfe won't leave WA , especially to play for a worse club, regardless of whether he supported us or not. If that was the case we'd have lured blokes like Crawford, Hodge & Scully over the years just to name a few.

Biggest trick we ever missed was not going fter Rhys-Jones when he left Sydney because we were too busy having a peeing contest with Collingwood. He also supported us as a kid but we were still a desirable destination back then.
He will for more money boyo, ask gazza who left Geelong for GC, or Phil Davis or Nathan bock or callus ward ooh my like it's never happened before  ::)
has only last week come ourt and said there is no way he will leave  freo or wa for that matter. loves it there, is a wa boy is on good coin and is well on the way to resigning.
you can forget about fyfe he aint going nowhere.
of there mids dave mundy is a possibility. hes weighing up the family side of things and wont resign until yrs end if he does at all. mundy may be too old for some. me id pay him what hes worth and then some to get him but at 29 length of contract would be an issue.

I personally don't see the fuss in Mundy, but maybe I just see him as the dud he was

Fyfe's just re-signed with Fremantle for another 3 years so that dream's over.

Apparently Morabito -who's been killing in the WAFL all year-  is not happy about not getting a game. Might be worth a punt. You wouldn't want to give up too much though. Probably as high a risk as Knights but definitely a much higher reward.

Bit of discussion on AFL360 that it wasn't GWS.
