And St Kilda has a worse culture than Richmond.

But we did that this year, we bought in a retired premiership player from a successful club in Max Bailey (clearly fits your criteria) and a lot of people on this forum have ridiculed him and the decision to bring him in.

So it would appear it is a very selective requirement indeed

Funny stuff, we're being picky over a Premiership Captain/triple premiership player and a Norm Smith Medalist.

It's a box to tick but there are others.

I've got no idea if Bailey is any good or not but he doesn't jump out as being a great leader.

It's a combination of things.

At the moment we have two club leaders in Hardwick and Gale from vastly different backgrounds.

Hardwick has knowledge of what it takes to have success but isn't a good leader.

Gale has leadership but no experience in creating success.

Some individuals can overcome this and create their own culture ie Roos, but it is very rare.

Hayes and Ling are both good leaders but only Ling is proven to be able to create success.

Hayes was a leader in a side that had the best season ever and still couldn't win the flag.

Assuming their skills and knowledge levels are the same then Ling is a far superior prospect.

Please no more St-Kilda people at RFC it will be destroyed forever.
l still have nightmares from being at the Dome & Frawley making our side stand out on the ground after the game clapping their retiring #3 Burke off the ground after a 100+ point mauling. Its burnt into my skull to my grave.
They are all spuds from there & have no success. Please please dont make have anymore nightmares of that day  ;D

Get a real assistant coach that has coached a team & had experience at controlling players & getting the best from them or off with there heads.  ;D

Vote no spuds at Punt road  ;D

And Re Ling from the HUN

Cameron Ling’s handling of a Mick Malthouse spray proves he is equipped to handle coaching

JON ANDERSON HERALD SUN

RICHMOND has entered the race to secure the services of Cameron Ling who is expected to announce shortly he will forego a promising media career and enter the coaching ranks.

He has already been spoken to by several Victorian-based clubs, with Melbourne, the Tigers and Geelong at the head of the queue for his services to become an assistant coach.

Those clubs would have noted with interest his reaction to a vintage verbal Mick Malthouse spray at the SCG last Saturday night

I know you don't post Richmonds full articles for their sake, but why not just post the whole article from the hun?

Incorrect anyone can post full articles from news web-sites as long as the proper link is included

I know you don't post Richmonds full articles for their sake, but why not just post the whole article from the hun?

Because the most of the rest of the article was a lot of "fluff" about the Ling & Malthouse "spat" from Saturday night and had nothing to do with the Tigers going after Ling. For the purposes of the discussion I only posted the part that was relevant.

The link was there for anyone who wanted to read the entire article

Id prefer Aaron Hamill from StKilda he was a worker. Hayes is a talent, sometimes talented players make good coaches but often not. Malcolm Blight being the exception, Mick Malthouse or Kevin Sheedy being the rule.
