Ryan O'Connor, general manager of Coburg, was on Club Corner tonight:

* Useless trivia: his predecessor former Tiger Des Ryan has moved on to lawn bowls.
* Game against Bullants: close at 3/4 time but couldn't close it out - story of Coburg's season.
* Rix aiming to be drafted to a AFL club that's why he's training with Richmond full-time.
* Hartigan very good in the backline. Put his name up for a Richmond berth.
* Andrew Raines quite good in a tagging role.

* This week - last home game vs North Ballarat at Coburg City Oval on Saturday. Spiel from Coburg website:

Come along and support the boys for Our last home game for the year against North Ballarat on Saturday 30th July. The Reserves game starts at 11:10 a.m with the Seniors kicking off at 2:00 p.m.

Don’t forget to book to attend our match day luncheon. Meals are $20 per head and drinks at bar prices.

I knew that - it was funny when he told me that's where he was going I started laughing thinking he was joking but he wasn't.

I was a bit like this  :-[ :-[

there is money to be made if you are any good at it and you can last longer aaaaaat it than at football

Nothing wrong with lawn bowls just hard to imagine Des Ryan the footballer playing it. Not the most level-headed bloke on a footy field lol.

I have met a few cranky ones at bowls too ::)

However the game itself is a great leveller and it is the 'old man's best kept secret from the young'

If you are up my way at any time look me up and I will take you over to the club for a roll-up ;)
