Has it dawned on anyone else that when Chaplin played well we won and when he had an ordinary game we got smashed?

Certainly in our top 5 most important players.

Oh dear...

That's just a relationship.

Not a proven causal-relationship.

Maybe Chaplin just looks good when we win?

I'm sure someone with an interest in stats would be able to show a clear pattern in Chaplin's good games and RFC wins.

He had a mare on Sunday, no question but it was significantly contributed to by the thunderbird in the coaches box.

We were unable to hold our defensive structure and had Chaplin and Rance taken into areas of the ground we didn't want them to be, we were unable to create a spare defender to influence the contest, despite Port doing it at their end.

Who isn't a fan of the thinking man's orange Tim Fleming?

And their bombs and their guns.

Again that doesn't prove a lot.

I could argue that the wins where Chaplin plays well are due to midfield pressure which makes his job a piece of cake being spare man back.

From what I've seen visually I don't think he's a match-winner.

I hope Boak enjoyed his season too. For all his trash talk, he'll be watching on next week from his lounge room just as Chaplin will be.

I'd rather be Boak than Chaplain - as a player, the club he represents and as a bloke.
