Newman was average but Thomas did well early before he was subbed off to give us more run. i agree with you tony about Miles and Ellis - awesome! Edwards and Jack are our X-Factor. They didn't get a huge amount of the ball but when they did they make something happen. Lids was great early and Maric wore Ryder down. Batch and Gordan looked all at sea at times. Newman's almost cooked.

If we could add a fit Jackson to the mix next week and Conca the week after our midfield starts to really strengthen up.  :thumbsup

WOOOOOOOOH!  Roid RAge over that one EssenJunksters.  Next year they might just opt for the fake silicon muscle implants, I hear they are legal.  Nothing like an edge of the seat final quarter heartbreaker.

Don't give a stuff whether we can make finals or not.

What I do give a stuff about is sticking it up the team we
couldn't produce even a whimper against back in May.

5 wins in a row means nothing unless we rectify the vomit
we threw up at the dreamtime game.

Stick it up these arrogant flogs and you'll gain some respect back
from at least one tiger supporter.

Respect where it's due - we stuck it up the bummers good and proper
Loved Benny griff tonight. His massive kick is such an asset. I'm
not sure if hardwick knows it and uses it sparingly as a tactic, or whether
he just doesn't see value in a the long bomb.

Ellis turned it up a notch - thought his kick outs were great.
Expected him to fade away after a big first half but he persisted well

Maric back to his beast-like form.

As I said - don't care about finals, just love giving my 20 odd bomber supporter mates a good old fashioned rev after the tripe we served up last time.

Wow. Excellent win.  :cheers
What a great effort from the boys.
I think after quarter time the boys showed they wanted to win this.
First to the footy, contested possession went up and the tackling pressure was unrelenting
Shane Edwards has stood up in a crunch game against some quality opposition.
Big Benny Griffiths was imposing himself and taking them on.
It was a high speed game and i thought all the boys contributed really well with some tough footy.   :thumbsup

Excellent win last night. Just finished seeing the replay on  Fox. Essendon play nice footy but our players were better in the clutch moments. It will all come down to the last round IMHO.

Always great to beat that arrogant mob of Veruca Salts and send them home with their tails between their legs :thumbsup.

We were fortunate to be only two goals down at quarter time. Not because they were any good but we just continually stuffed ourselves up committing bad turnovers (the umps did their best to help out the Bombers as well  ::)). Credit though to the boys for fighting and hanging in there and turning the game around in the second. Cotch was lucky to get that free but it made up for the BS ones Essendon had got. We then had our weekly post-half-time siesta  :banghead for the first 10-15 mins of the 3rd qtr but thankfully a kind bounce on their goal-line kept us only a goal down at the most. Gordon's courage and goal proved to be a turning point and we regained our intensity and composure and regained the lead (stiff not to be further ahead if only the siren sounded 5 seconds later). Good to then see us stand up in the last and fend off the couple of late charges the Bombers made.

We still make too many goal-costing dumb turnovers just at the point where another goal to us would either have given us a handy break or have sealed the game earlier (hello Morris but he wasn't the only one).

We also still have significant periods during games where we lose a string of centre clearances in a row. The game's momentum really swung back and forth on which side was winning the clearances.

That chain of handball off our half back line late in the last quarter which led to a goal by Shed was pulsating. It won us the game.
8 weeks ago and that would've resulted in a turn over goal to them and killed our momentum.

Last night doesn't make us what we ain't - a top 4 side - but a desire to win and competitiveness are the hallmarks of a great side and I've been really pleased in our good wins over the past 6 weeks at our intensity at the pill and our hard edge in close.

Can we fit Big Ben, Big Ty and Big Ivvy in the one side?

It's that simple Spud

This was a very good win, I thought we were shot and out of puff in the last with about 10 to go...

Boys need to keep going now.
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

Allowed myself to enjoy it for a bit. It meant something but the frustration of this season has kicked in again  ;D
