Breakdown of membership numbers into the categories... Gold, yellow and black, platinum etc:

3-5 year members   18k
Silver members       12k
Gold members        16k
Platinum members   <1k
Yellow and Black      159

--------------------------------------------------

In February, we joined almost 11k members. According to numbers on their websites, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Essendon were around 3k.

We are now tracking around 7k up year on year and well on our way to our first membership target for the year, which is 70k.

-------------------------------------------------

What is the target for 2015 ? 75.000 ?

Richmond FC - the membership goal for the 2015 season is 70 thousand members. We are currently on track to meet this.

We still have 10k un-renewed members so we are working hard on in ensuring that each one of those members has been contacted through multiple channels to ensure we don’t miss them.

Having more members than Collingwood should be enough incentive. Sign up, ya bums.

70k is aiming low. Sets a target of 75k in 2014, gets 66k then sets a target of 70k in 2015. Only Richmond would do this

With membership now defined in myriad ways by the game, judgment is passed between some AFL rivals on the various offerings in the competition.

The AFL requires that $50 is spent in some kind of membership package for it to count officially as a membership. That minimum spend figure has been reduced in recent seasons. Some clubs sell one-game "memberships" in packages that might also include club apparel while others do not offer one-game "memberships" and quietly scoff at the notion.

They are calling the the one game memberships "entry tickets" to the game.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Why? Don't think some people can't make any games but would contribute if there was a one game membership they could buy?
