Rate a Tiger's year - Dustin Martin?
« on: October 12, 2014, 05:25:51 PM »
Martin played 22 games in his fifth season of AFL to take his career tally past the ton to 108. He was rewarded with third place in this year's B&F.

His best returns this season were career high 36 disposals against both GWS (R10) and Sydney (R14). Dusty also had 30+ possessions against Brisbane (R5) and Melbourne (R9). His best goal return was 4 goals (& 28 disposals) in our R12 defeat to North although the goals Dusty will be most remembered for in 2014 will be the sealers he kicked against Carlton (R2), Adelaide (R21) and Sydney (R23).

8, our most effective player this year. Its funny that with all the criticism he attracts that he has managed improvement in each of his seasons.

Our best player by a mile this year IMO.
Like every footy club, coaches have their favorites..should have won the B&F
Recon he might win a Brownlow one day. Would only need 8 really good games which he will do consistently in seasons to come.
Thank God for Dusty.

Exactly richo! What's to criticise? Not much

Season 9/10. Faultless year. Matchwinners are few and far between hope Dan doesn't stuff this up and give this guy issues with his coming contract

Absolutely

Still staggered he didn't win the B&F, should have, no ifs buts or maybes

Brilliant year. Would argue he is out important player

Re-sign now,

agree with both of you - was easily our best this season and has been jibbed out of 2 B&F's imo, should have won it last year too

And that inch step is one of continual consistency.

I wanna be his stepdad.

8/10 yet better than Cotchin,

the little suck.

Great year. Just marked him down because I want his defensive intensity to go up 5 notches

Rate his season as a 7.  But a really solid 7, would love to give him a 9 actually but I wont.  His highlight reel looks like a 9, but his season overall was a 7.  I kept him at 7 because I thought he had some quiet games & still had quiet periods even within his good games.  Overall i am wrapped with Dusty's season though, kicking the winner 3 times in a season & 2 of them at critical times in late season games puts him in the star category for mine.  I see a bit of Lethal Leigh in him, especially around goals, he has the potential to be that good.
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!  Loud, proud & dangerous!

Most exciting player at Richmond. His moments of brilliance is why we couldn't let him go last year. Funny how some people wanted him gone 12 months ago  :huh

Does anyone have highlights of this goals?

v Carlton R1
v North Melbourne (1st Half) R12
v Port Adelaide R17
v Essendon R20
v Adelaide R21
v Sydney R23

Or maybe all his goals of 2014?

8/10 - consistent season, kicking important goals!

Deserved top 2 finish!
