I hope we go with a 40/4 list - keep pick 70, have a PSD pick - add Darcy Cameron, Shane Nelson & a big young KPD to Thomarse.

Gore sounds good if we address our pace issues with our first pick.

Wigg tipped to go anywhere betwwen 25 - 65. Wouldn't mind him at him at 33 but it would be a fantastic result to get him at 52.
so what has to happen to get a  40/4  scenario

Just need to read out 5 kids names rather than passing on the 4th or 5th pick.

Just what I said - we use pick 70 and a PSD pick (or even use pick 88 and then upgrade Miles with pick 106) - this would leave us with 3 rookie picks to go with Thomarse. If there's nothing of note in the PSD we can still use 4 rookie picks + Thomarse.

Wouldn't mind giving Port DFA Ben Newton a go - 23 next year, similar type to Miles but 4 cm taller and around 5kg's heavier, was only delisted after asking for a release, like Miles, found himself stuck behind high-end talent...though I heard Melbourne are heavily into him.

I highly doubt we will go 40/4 (and probably not even 39/5 for that matter) though as the club is most likely planning to elevate Thomarse before round one again and unless there's an LTI vacancy, they wouldn't be able to with a 40/4 list.

With the delisting of Arnot from our senior list, pick 70 is back in play as a live selection. Our recruiters must have a fair idea that someone who we want will still be available at 70 or they won't be around at our first rookie pick so we need to get in before the rookie draft.

taking a draftee at pick 70 is more about saving money for free agency next year than the player we take.

What about Jack Lonie?

Being compared to Ballantine and god knows we need a goal sneak like that.

Said a while back I'd be interested in him with a later pick. Could be the small forward we need but I don't think we should be using a high pick on a player who personally I reckon won't make a good midfield pinch hitter and will be mostly confined to the forward line

Specialist small forwards have to be really outstanding like Rioli, Ballantyne, Betts or Milne to pay off these days IMO. If they can't rotate through midfield they're a liability more often than not.

33 - Terrence Conti (brother of Freo star Alex Conti)
52 - Mindy Petrenko (sister of West Coast/Canberra Raiders star Taylor Petrenko)
70 - Samson Conti-Petrenko (son of Terrence Conti and Mindy Petrenko)

From Callum Twomey's live chat today:

"Andre, have heard Richmond has some interest in Nathan Drummond later on."

"Doubt Clem Smith would join the Tigers, Brent. He's a chance for one of West Coast's later selections but his fitness is a concern for some recruiters."
