Am I the only one that understands Gale is speaking marketing jargon?! There are some intelligent heads in this forum but wowser how did you guys miss that one. Gale is marketing a product - whilst simultaneously making sure we maintain the current membership figures. I can see the model he's attempting to go for - one that separates on field performances from membership enticements. Which is to say, they looking for a scenario where people sign up for the fans, not necessarily the players. Seems a little more sustainable wouldn't you say? One of the power clubs in the Bundesliga - Borussia Dortmund - sells themselves entirely on the enticement, or even prestige, of being a Dortmund fan - who is devoted to the club and adores them despite performances.

Absolutely understand what he is trying to do, you call it "marketing jargon" I call it spin. The words mean very little if people don't buy into or believe what you are saying

You cannot go on and on about "We don’t just exist for our members – we exist because of them" and then your very actions show the total opposite.

That's what happened in season 2014 and that was my point

Spruik the numbers whether it be financial or membership level all you want. But don't go on about something that you've been so far removed from it borders on disrespecting those very people you speak of

Great post Willy.
I'd like to add a couple of comments. I don't doubt the club (or Benny Gale) ambition or intentions in what is being said.
Some people may doubt that but I believe them and I think this has helped the club be united and deliver focus to the total club "transformation".
The real issue then becomes the ability of those people to execute what they say.
Are the club ruthlessly pursuing the right people - on field or off field - to deliver the dream?
Being United isn't enough and I have wondered if the pursuit of unity and focus has come at the expense of getting the right capability to execute what is required to deliver the dream.

great posts x2

Hey RogerD

Confirmations of debit were sent to all members when membership was launched. We also included it in recent club emails and ran a story on the club website

I know you'll have a list, so, where has this happened?

Number 1. Pavers

It's not number 1. But it's a very good example.

As I said many times People forked out a fair whack of money for those I know I did and still after more than 3 years they still haven't been relaid and there has been no correspondence from the club about for nearly 2 years about what's going on

Sorry but if you going to take people's hard earned and promise to relay then do it or at least have the courtesy to let people what's going on

Stig, unlike a lot of people on forums I have spoken directly to the people I needed to at the club about the issues I had this season and about my views on the spin that came out of the club

So I won't go over it again here

I will add that the response to feedback from the team handling coteries has been nothing short of outstanding as what they've put together for Inner Sanctum in 2015 proves.

I believe the club sees members as a plethora of financial manipulatives and at times treat them with contempt, exploiting their love of a culture that hasn't existed since 1980.

Is that wrong ?

They might be at one end of the pendulum but you are most definitely at the other end
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

ah an even better post. and sums up what some  of us are about.
i think a lesson the club is yet to learn is the bar can never be set too high and to achieve success and sustain it it has to be this way.
its disappointing to hear all the rhetoric and then be treated like a fool. so many of us see what is wrong but it seems the club refuses to address them.they are happy with what has been done and lets face it on field that is very little.

Thanks for following up our situation RFC Offical.
It was greatly appreciated and I must compliment the club for getting on the front foot in sorting this out.
