100kegs at 18 and 196cm is a unit. No good if he can't play but what a handy project. That's my height but I was only around 95kg at 18

Mental note, don't push dwainos buttons, he's a friggen unit  :o

Perhaps dwaino should have put his hand up for the draft. He's the perfect height to be a hugely successful KPF.

Serious note though, always happy to use late picks on big blokes like this. Personally I find him the most interesting of the draft prospects. Big, quick, kicks goals, and properly powerful build. Hopefully has strong hips for shrugging off defenders too.

Historically, dwaino is almost 200cm

It is very rare of a kpf of this size to be successful

Richmond has selected Northern Knights key forward Reece McKenzie with its fifth pick (selection 77) in the 2014 National Draft.

The 18-year-old is the son of former Carlton premiership player Wayne McKenzie, and made a name for himself as an outstanding contested mark at TAC Cup level.

In 10 appearances for the Knights, he kicked 35 goals (third in the competition).

Although weighing in at 107kg, McKenzie proved his running ability at the AFL Combine, running 2.87 seconds for the 20-metre sprint (ranked equal second).

“Reece is a power forward who is very hard to defend against, with his bulk and athleticism,” said Richmond Recruiting Manager Francis Jackson.

“He has speed on the lead, an excellent vertical leap when he jumps at the footy, and vice-like hands in the marking contest.

“He kicked some big bags of goals during the season, including a 10-goal game at TAC Cup level and a 16-goal game for Marcellin at school level.”

How did this guy not go earlier?  What is the knock on him?  Is it some sort of new hippy trend to not have power forwards or something?

gotta agree has to be worth a punt at 77.  theres a few knocks on him atm and  i reckon most thought he would slip but to slip so far.

imo reeces biggest challenges are to tone down be more rounded and compete and tackle etc etc, show he can do it against similar sized players and be more than a mark kick player which is what he is atm imo.
at 195cm and 100kg hes ideal height weight ratio to be a power fwd. :whistle
