Ty is well respected at the club HRT, and well liked. He is a different cat by all reports but that's ok too.
I hope this rumor is true, nothing wrong with a bit of 'friendly' aggression. I'd hope big Reece earned a bit of respect of his own. Good on the lad.

That's all fine BT but what exactly has he done on the field to warrant any genuine respect from his teammates?
Don't doubt he's a great bloke, clubman etc but perhaps that's been part of our issue in the past when striving to be elite in the competition?
Question, do you think Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell or Roughhead would respect Ty if he were at the Hawks? Would he still be there? I also hope the rumour is true as we need kids to challenge the so called leaders at our club

Mate he has played nearly 100 games of AFL footy and kicked 100 goals. That's more than 99.9% of everybody you/we know. It doesn't really matter what you think of him, the coaches of our footy club obviously rate him and respect him otherwise he would be on our list. You don't know how hard he trains or what extra work he may do, all things that get respect off coaches and teammates.
And to answer your question on the Hawthorn boys, I don't really care what they think.

at 196 cm he is too short to ruck, from the highlights he is a stay at home full forward or CHF. Good luck to Reece hope he makes it.

and that is exactly what we want. a bloke who may become a very good stay at home kpf.a bloke capable of exclusively playing kpf. ive argued we have not had  that with vickery or griffiths as neither have shown after 6 and 5 yrs respectively that they can play kp exclusively.they may yet prove me wrong but id sure like to spread the eggs to other baskets.

genuine power fwd size, freakin quick so will be hard to stop on the lead, takes a contested grab consistently, has very good agility for a bloke his size and he kicks goals.
not sure what other recruiters didnt like if it was nothing more than poor interview then they all have rocks in their heads.

my understanding of why he may have slipped a little bit was, he had not done too much against the better sides and better players.
i think for a pick in the 70s he is a great pick. we need to give more talls chances with these late and rookie picks.

i still advocate at least one more tall fwd on our list,
even if i include mcbean vickery griffiths with riewoldt and mckenzie there really is room for one more tall fwd, the type that is missing is the gunston crameri mayne lynch type imo.

vickery and griffiths to justify all the faith really do need to take their games to another level.there are no more excuses.

I don't disagree with anything there although comparing yourself to (or in) the benchmark team in the competition gives context as to where you sit and how far you need to come in order to be a success in the competition.
I hope Ty gets to 200 games and his on field output starts to resemble the consistency required to be remembered as a very good AFL player.

Pick 77 should always go to high risk - high reward type players. No point playing safe there.
