Give him a sub spot this year.
Then watch him do a good pre season

Look, let's be honest here, we could do worse.

All this talk of Astbury and Elton back in is draining my pouch.

Don't drain my pouch.

RICHMOND — REECE McKENZIE

Tall forward Reece McKenzie kicked a heap of goals in TAC Cup footy, but still slid to Richmond at pick 77 last year. At 197cm and 104kg, he established himself as a consistent lead-up forward at VFL level in 2015. He averaged five marks per game and booted 10 goals from 16 matches. He also spent a bit of time in the ruck throughout the year.

Needs a fitness base he certainly has the athleticism and size to go with it. I dont care how far of the pace he is i want us to play him at opportune times next year.

Heres an idea i have floated before .Liam McBean to the back line. I still maintain as a kid his best footy was at CHB.I look at him and see so many similarities to Dustin Fletcher.

Yeah nah.

Dustin is a natural defender.

Liam is one of the most natural forwards we have. Certainly he's one of our best shots for goal.

Not a defender's a-hole though Clawski.

played well in defense during some periods of his life, by some accounts

do you or do you not get troy is terrible?

Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

I know Chappy is passed it, but that doesn't mean Liam should be thrown in defence.

again,

it has been reported at some stages mcbean played very well in the backline ...

i cannot confirm or deny

but it wouldnt be a first if a tall forward 'made it' at the other end

better to have the kid in the backline than to have him in the 2s  :whistle

more so when you are carrying a load of un-kotcha list blocking mates of dimma

I'm happy to see that, Claw.
Imo, McBean won't break through otherwise.

Forget Vickery & Griffiths after next year, McBean & McKenzie are our KPF future. :shh

McBean will be delisted within two years if he cant find a physical presence especially in the air.
I have never seen so much Hype about a key forward who just has not shown the attributes to be a good one at the top level.
As a junior his height  reach pace and agility enabled him to be a good defender. He dind't have to be  a strong mark or crash packs he just had to get close enough to the contest to get a fist in.
It was as a kpd that he excelled yet we steadfastly refuse to try him there, and thats  despite having two very similar  players in front of him in  Vickery, Griffiths  who play fwd.

FFS we tried post in defense elton in defense even griffiths yet the one who  showed the most as a junior there we plonk fwd and turn him into a lazy bastard.FFS every statement i read out of the club they keep saying hes to be our future #1 ruckman lol.

Tend to agree about McBean. Every key forward has to be physically imposing, not a crumber. Happily proven wrong though

Yes santa...tops our VFL goalkicking in his first year, despite missing two games, tops it again the second season and comes second in the entire comp., by only 2 goals despite playing 6 games less than the winner, tops it for the third year running and jointly wins it for the entire comp. despite again missing games....kicks over 100 goals in three short interrupted seasons and  getting crap service from a bottom 4 midfield....all while being an out of position defender and showing no attributes as a forward....quite amazing really....
