Richmond has elevated rookie Jayden Short to the Club’s senior list and extended his contract by two years, tying him to the Tigers until at least the end of the 2018 season.
Short was recruited to the Tigers in the 2015 AFL Rookie Draft, with the Club’s first round selection (no. 11 overall).
The 20-year-old utility made his AFL debut against Collingwood in Round 2 this season playing as a forward, he booted three goals in his first game.
He went on to play 16 games in the 2016 home-and-away season, and solidified his position in the backline with his impressive speed, kicking and composure under pressure.
“Jayden works incredibly hard on and off the field to develop and improve his game, and that’s why we love him in our team,” Richmond’s General Manager – Football Talent, Dan Richardson said.
“He’s a very versatile player with great pace, kicking skills and footy smarts, and we’re really pleased to reward his hard work with a place on our senior list and a contract extension.
“We’re looking forward to Jayden having a strong pre-season and taking his game to another level in 2017.”
