Think he has to be ruled out for at least 12 weeks to be placed on the LTI list.....can't upgrade a rookie in his place otherwise.....

Correct

At the moment we can only elevate one rookie

Needs to do the right thing by the club and retire - hopefully setting an example for Newman in the process....

Peter Burge's injury update:

* Foley had a bit of an issue with his plantar fascia and the bottom of his foot so he needed a small release done to help alleviate that. He should only be sidelined reasonably short term.  We're thinking somewhere around the six-week mark but we'll see how he goes. He is a super-positive athlete, so I'm sure his recovery will be quicker than most.

* Lids is no issue. There's hasn't been any issue. However, with his achilles history, there's been a change of approach with his training management over the preseason. He can still work at high intensity but we monitor the number of the sessions per week. He's right to play this week.

* Cotch in on a managed program. He's doing a lot of conditioning work but hasn't missed anything. Doing stuff to the side of the main group and with the main group. All about managing him so he's right for round 1 against Carlton. He should play in the NAB Challenge in a couple of weeks [so presumably that will be against North].

Foley is finished, should've retired at the end of last year when he was a bleeding mess in the elimination final. Selfish

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

dont you think its up to the club to get rid of him?  :yep

In newman's case i believe he should have walked, but the club is at fault here not now but about 3 years ago i think  when they extended his contract by 2/3 years.
