For those who will be up in Brisbane on Friday, Richmond will have a training session at the 'Gabba starting at 5.45pm.

2. There was a statistical anomaly in the Tigers' round two loss to the Western Bulldogs. The won the disposals 403-326, marks 113-83, free kicks 30-13 and inside 50s 54-48, along with a heap of other stats, but still rarely looked like winning.

4. It wasn’t pretty for the Lions against North Melbourne last weekend, losing every major statistical category. They lost disposals 401-305, marks 91-78 and inside 50s 58-45 in the 82-point loss.

We win disposals, marks, free kicks and inside 50's and lose. North do it and win massively. If a nothing club with no heart like North can blow a team out why can't we? Can't even win FFS

Every team has bad games. Every one though hawks were the best going round raving how they smashed geelong and then they lose to Essendon.
It's about how you bounce back. Thats what matters. You can bet hawks will have a good one against the doggies because good teams bounce back strong, lets see what we are made of.

Expecting a huge win against Brisbane, wouldnt be happy with anything less than 40 points really, but more importantly we all wanna see us playing well.
We wanna see direct, fast footy. No chipping around bull crap. We wanna see Cotch taking the game on, dusty kicking goals, jack taking speckies etc.

BRISBANE LIONS v RICHMOND

HOT: Dayne Zorko is the Lions' top-scoring player against the Tigers, averaging 14.5 points from his eight games against Richmond. Star Tiger Dustin Martin was the fifth-highest scoring player in round two with 24.4 points. He kicked one goal, had three score assists and laid six tackles to complement his 31 touches.

COLD: Lions onballer Jack Redden reached a career high of 38th overall, but currently sits at 109th in the competition and ranks 14th at the club for points scored this season. Tigers spearhead Jack Riewoldt places 92nd in the overall standings – well down on his career-high of No.23.

pppfffttttt we have had two bad games in a row. thats the trouble when you win, people ignore how bad you are.

maybe just maybe the indicators are right and we really are a poor side as well. just a thought.

Brisbane Lions and Richmond eye off redemption after last week's disasters

The Age

If good teams respond immediately to bad defeats, Saturday night's meeting between Brisbane and Richmond at the Gabba should answer a lot of questions.

After both suffered stinging losses last weekend, the Lions and Tigers are both keen for a dose of redemption.

Of the two, Richmond lost the most stock with their 19-point failure against the Western Bulldogs, which has again raised perennial questions over the mental strength of Damien Hardwick's outfit and the legitimacy of their top-four aspirations.

Assistant coach Ben Rutten is not just hopeful, but expectant of a completely different performance from the Tigers.

"Reviewing the game, we were really disappointed with just some of our fundamental errors and basic sort of mistakes," he told Fox Sports. "The good teams respond really quickly and we're going to be no different.

"Brisbane are going to be hungry. It's a good chance for us to get away as a group and we're looking forward to a much more aggressive, physical response from our boys.

"It's a great opportunity for us to be able to respond on an interstate trip."

The Lions, meanwhile, are still reeling from a belting at the hands of North Melbourne and in just two weeks, have gone from genuine finals hopefuls to potentially staring down the barrel of another forgettable year.

History suggests their fortunes won't flip this week against Richmond, who they haven't beaten since 2009.

But then again, the Tigers have won just one out of nine games without midfield star Brett Deledio, who will miss the trip north due to an ongoing calf complaint.

"It's not as if they've belted us in any one particular game over the years, but we just haven't been able to get over the top of them," Lions coach Justin Leppitsch said. "One thing we have to instil in this group is consistency.

"A lot of the things we do, a lot of other teams are doing as well. They're just doing it a little bit better.

"I think the planning itself is fine. We just have to make sure the implementation is good and under pressure we can still think through that."
