I don't get the '85-'94 thing. For every win there were plenty of aggravating losses. Not much has changed but we've managed a couple of 8ths compared to the 9ths in previous "eras"
I've enjoyed all the unexpected wins - even last year.
In every "error" that we've had in the past 30 years, the sinking feeling as we've began the slide down the ladder has had a cumulative affect on my psyche

Not many 9ths or missing out by 1 position in that era. I don't think one actually iirc.

Yeah there was one dooks -1994. We got on a huge winning streak after Mal Brown put a rocket through the place after some bad early losses. This found us in a position where we only had to win one of our last two games to sneak into the 8.  Unfortunately those games were against the red hot Geelong and Carlton and we finished 9th. It was the first of many false dawns since the dark days descended.

Yeah but that was only our first 9th in the Final 8 era so it hadn't become a running gag yet.

Sorry guys I missed catching up with you. My intention was to do it but was bloody crook Sunday, so missed the pre-match coaches briefing and headed to the Yarra room instead. Lasted about 20 minutes in there before I thought "better get out of here for some fresh air or I will be offering a different type of pre-match entertainment like this  :chuck

Then went and watched the game from my Southern Stand seats... caught up with Jack though.

If you are at Dreamtime - I'll catch you both then...though Don will need to introduce us Dr  ;D

Great to win, but you have to wonder how they have without a forward line that is cohesive, well oiled and structured.
I am enjoying the wins now, but I ain't convinced we are there yet.  If they can get that forward structure working better I would be beside myself.  But I ain't
