Agree with WP Even if it means we lose would prefer playing the kids. Bring in fresh faces. Give them a proper chance.

Will be nice to see some new faces, even 1 or 2 is a start.

Cant see why there are complaints here even if only a couple of the named ones get games.

The Blues "line in the sand" at this week's selection meeting is what ours should be,  unfortunately our delusional club think we have a brilliant list so regardless of how poorly the team plays we generally make no more than a couple of unforced changes.  I wonder if stats are kept which shows the number of unforced changes following losses of say 40+ points,  would guess it's a stat we would be at the low end in comparison to clubs at a similar stage of development.

I suppose the other important stat is whether those unforced changes are same for same or for younger developing players and if younger players are selected then how long they remain in the side. 1-2 weeks seems to be the maximum time before some fictional version of a "favourites" performance at VFL level gets them back into the side at the expense of the younger player.

Play the kids ahead of the tried, tested and failed, whats the worst that could happen? they fail too. Nothing to lose, no brainer for mine

Sure some don't get a good run at it for various reasons (not all I agree with) and some have not been given a go at all.

Sure there are some that are getting games that should be overlooked for younger ones.

But here is a couple of numbers that might surprise you.

Before this round we have played 14 players with less than 50 games and half of them have played less than 10 games.  That could jump to 18 players that have played less than 50 games and 11 that have played less than ten. When you look at this then its hard to say we are not trying players out. Just doesn't seem that way at times.

Bring in the beanstalk. Jack and the bean stalk would work well. I don't believe in making overly drastic wholesale changes as I'm of the belief there needs to be a level of player cohesion (which isn't exactly high at the moment anyway) for game plans to be carried out.

I would definitely go with McBean and Dea. Menadue is meant to be really quick right so use him as the super sub? Don't want to run the risk of going to tall so maybe it will be a toss up between Morris and Ellis. I say toss up because Ellis is coming back from injury and they shouldn't break the kid.

Yes because Newman is.

If Swan plays as a forward would rather Dea have a crack at him.

Think vickery will be named purely for ruck purposes. Unless they plan on letting mcbean get monstered?

think it will be

Elton for Newman

Vickery for Astbury

Ellis for Gordon.

...and still have a chance of improving unlike the same old hacks who've reached their ceiling, cracked their heads on it and are well on the way back down...hell Newman and Morris have already crashed through the stuffing floor....

And outside of Vickery (though I understand the logic) I'd take those changes, couple of kids and let's see how they go

Well if the Ruck work is shared between Griffith and Maric we don't need to see McBean snapped in two. Really think we should play him because our game plan is ridiculously predictable. At least with McBean it may throw a curve ball at Buckley's back 6
