you do but first and foremost, if maric goes down, or at a time post maric, you need someone that isnt hampson - IMHO

and preferable someone that is not 18 years of age

He's just a little bit behind Hamspon……

I think you now understand how far away he really is! ;D

Scott Lycett should be the ruck target for Richmond. Conca and a later draft pick going the other way would even out the trade.

Ty Vickery seem good in the ruck

He holds his own except against most other ruckman

Let's then develop the next ruckman through the draft who  not only rucks but competes around the ground

Vickery and Griffiths should stay up forward. Lycett could easily takeover from Maric. We are one ruckman short because the Hampson deal never worked out for us.

Wouldn't mind a late pick on Gach Nyuon who played for Vic Country in the last two Championships. This Sudanese youngster looks to have a base you can build on and athleticism. :pray

Say what you want. We need to develop some young rucks so we're not in this position again in 5 years!

Should always have somebody in the pipeline!!

True but generall first year ruckman take a long, long time to be ready

like Maric started to come good only a few years ago

hence, ideally you would want an older ruckman (like a hampson but not rubbish) and a battalion of young ruck prospects

Don't quote me if you're not reading what I say... First post - draft a young kid, and get somebody with 3+ years experience who is able to take over from Maric in 2 years or so.

Maric is playing well enough for now. Don't see the point getting somebody like Kreuzer/Leuenberger at age 26+. By the time Maric is retiring (I guess another 2 years after 2015) these blokes will be 28-29 years old and will give us 2-3 years max. Can't play Maric AND a bloke like Leuenberger. Kreuzer would have to replace Griffiths or Vickery.

Admittedly I would consider trading Vickery for Kreuzer but that's about it...

Wouldn't be paying poo for Kreuzer. He's played about 1 game in 12 months?

Leuenberger same, just injury-prone.

Need to draft a promising ruckman, and look for a younger bloke with 3+ years on a list and some physical development already done IMO.

Claw said the same thing and I have to agree. This bloke will be a great ruck! Shame we didn't pursue him. Would likely have cost us our 1st round pick (Lennon) for Longer and probably Brisbane's 2nd round pick (Lewis Taylor). Would have been an awesome deal...

Has a 3 year rookie contract with the aim to take over from Ivan thereafter. Very determined I will add.

Cause we want to win the flag now-3 year period

It's nice drafting a promising ruckman but most the times you have to wait six years for anything
Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

If we get Kreuzer or Leuenberger we can't play Maric.

Can their bodies hold up? That's my only main gripe I suppose.

'berger showed what he's capable of VS Fremantle yesterday. Was mouthwatering.
