Why do the media make out that Tiger fans would be excited at the news Newman is fit and ready to play?

Maybe because we could only assume that it's a farewell game? I would be excited about that.

He's already had his farewell game IMHO

All the hype surrounding Lambert and it seems he played a blinder in a half in the vfl, what has to happen for him to get a game? Could he replace Hunt or are body sizes/usage too different??

I reckon Dimma likes him. He'll get another crack sooner rather than later. Probably needs a full game in the 2s first though.

In the Mix - Round 13

At least one spot has opened up for Richmond with Corey Ellis set to miss, and there are options for the match committee, including veteran Chris Newman who was among the best in the VFL at the weekend. Newman has played two games since returning from a groin injury and should be ready for senior action. Others pushing hard are Matt McDonough and Matt Dea, who have enjoyed sustained runs of form at the second level. McDonough had 28 possessions in the VFL, also kicking three goals. Dea has played well for the past two months and deserves an opportunity after taking nine marks across half-back. Sam Lloyd kicked two goals.

I don't really think that he was truly in our best players last week.....
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Would think it might have something to do with the fact it was his first game in 8 weeks, hence why he only played 3 qtrs

Would love to see in before Newman but can't see it happening this week

I think Lambert has a massive upside and really has something to play for. I hear his attitude and preparation is second to none
While Newman has been a fantastic servant of the club I can't see any positives moving forward with Chris

Most likely guessing again but the Footy Show tonight had Newman, Dea, Gordon, McBean, McDonough & Elton added to the squad for this week.

Oh dear

From Twitter

@SeanSowerby7: .@Richmond_FC Chris Newman and Kane Lambert have flown to Sydney with the team to take on the Swans .@7NewsMelbourne http://t.co/Gu9OzfBux0

I believe Nath Gordon has also made the trip
