Heppell is going nowhere. He has a handshake agreement to be captain of Essendon. He'll collect one million dollars on insurance money and come back as their number one player.

Hurley is the one that we need from those who may want to leave and who may want to come to us.

Just get it done.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

More than happy to get Hurley

But everyone is assuming he is going to be good player or a better player at the RFC

Have to question whether he would / will be .... our track record aint great  ;D

True, but he is a class player and a KPP.
When was the last time we were able to land someone like that? He would partner Rance perfectly down back. We should at least be doing our best to get this done.

That doesn't make much sense IMO.

WP sounds like he gets into the ear of Hartley & Richardson during trade week.....

Hahaha

Happy to get hurley at whatever price

Not sure what you dont understand with my previous post.

It's simple really.

Our record with developing players isnt great. Most of our players have this season gone backwards. People see this bloke as some sort of saviour just saying with our record he is a good chance of going backwards  ;D

Clear enough?

Only stirring muscles.  :thumbsup
In terms of development, Hurley may be ready to go. Just saying.

What else can you do WP other than have a joke. The bloody club is a shambles....again.

Clear yet fairly dumb

Hurley is developed and is a solid defender

Would be light years ahead of Chaplin , would make a significant difference
Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

Would love to see Hurley in the Y&B but he won't want to come to RFC and TBH (if the rumors are true) I don't want to pay him $1 million/year nor necessary try to buy a bloke who sounds like he just wants money and doesn't care about who he plays for.

Fact is we have a SERIOUS depth issue ALL OVER our list. Getting a $1 million/year key defender won't be enough to make us contenders and is therefore not money well spent.

Honestly I think we had a short window in which we needed to attract another two A-grade players but we failed and I fear the window is closing. If we had managed to snag Armitage or Hannebery (2014?) followed by Treloar in 2015 it could be a different story but we haven't acquired any depth and this year might break the team if they don't get it together!

If you list the greatest current list deficiencies

The most pressing issue is key defender and  a lack of ruckman

Another year I Chaplin; I would not blame rance one iota for becoming a monk or going around the world instead on playing for Richmond

ESSENDON is intent on attaining the signature of key defender Michael Hurley, but coach John Worsfold doesn't believe any recommitment is imminent for the All Australian backman.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-27/worsfold-wants-hurley-back-but-doesnt-believe-resigning-is-imminent

Mark Stevens tonight on Ch 7 news said he believes Hurley will be staying at Essendon.
