I have some wonderful fond memories at Punt rd. My uncle, Keith Cleaver was a running trainner and Physio for the Tigers for many years in the 70's - 80's. He purchased a terrace on Punt rd (directly opposite Tigerland).
My great grandparents immigrated from the UK and began thier new life in Richmond (Lennox st), they were the last to leave before the highrise went up.
Because of my uncles affiliation with the club we were able to use Punt road for our family reunion in the late 80's. I felt proud and priveledged to enter those rooms and play on the oval.
The day that Jack Dyer was buried I took my son to Punt rd in his Richmond jumper, we stood on Punt rd and wept a tear as the great man was driven by for one last time. My son was fortunate enough to have had his image on the news and in the newpapers chasing the foooty around on top of Jack's number in the centre of the Punt Rd oval.
I know my son will have many more fond memories of the Tiger's and Punt rd to come in the future.
