Newman. Lol

Another classic momentum killing performance...stands out like a sore thumb usually....stood out like a severed thumb amongst a dozen sore thumbs tonight...

What about Batchelors perfect impression of Laffy tonight. It brought back nightmares. Too many short steps from Bachar tonight also

Hope Grimes' injury isn't too severe.

Hopefully today there can be some calm reflection in this particular thread. Some of last nights posts were not measured and off the mark.

Most were accurate, Betts flogged Batch, wake up, Betts played against himself last night and he was he own worst enemy, he killed Batch and this is where in the future we will fail. Batch is not up to playing against quality opposition, should be with his mate Morris!!

I hardly think the plan was for grimes to get subbed off so early and leave Batch to play small on betts.
By the way how often has Betts been held well against tigers? Not often.

Batch does his job every week apparently, well no he doesnt, he was given a job to do and he failed yet again. What the hell does play small mean??

Batchelor is a fringe player imv at best though the selection panel has seen something in him where he has been able to play majority of the season. There has been players who have given less this year though continue to get picked so I'm not suprised he hasn't been dropped.
as for playing small, it's means exactly how it's read.
Batch is 188 cm taking on Betts who is 173 cm and a pure silk small forward.
Tell me who would have done a better job on Betts given the entire team was poor and also who is a better small fwd than betts in the comp?
All these people crying out for Motlop,  who isn't a bees dick compared to Eddie Betts.

I would have tried floss on Betts, but he had an average game too, so who knows. I rate Motlop over Betts for overall performance, not just as a forward. Batch didn't even chase him last night, that is what was disappointing, in one passage of play he sort of casually jogged after him and put an arm out as a tackle...gee, that's not acceptable.

Floss is a bloody good player, and putting him on Betts may have curbed Betts influence though the rest of our team was just crap and would of leaked goals from wherever Floss came from.
I'm not sold on Batchelor either though I still believe we can make some solid improvement in our defense either with picking up another quality defender in the off season or upgrading from our reserves though even there it is slim pickings.
Perhaps once these Corey Ellis types come back it my help to sure up parts of our back line if not giving us better kicking and run from defense.

You wake up. batch has been solid this year. Not his fault we didn't have a small def to match up on him.

Worse game from a Richmond player all year from Batchelor last night. Looked like he couldn't be bothered, hardly touched the ball or his opponent and turned it over when it got it. Wouldn't get a game at Carlton yet SuperCoach keeps picking him
