Champion Data rates Houli as the best Tiger to raise his game for finals. Conversely, Titch holds the largest dip in form for us from H/A season to a finals match.

AFL 2015: The players who can make or break your club’s finals hopes

Herald-Sun
September 9, 2015

THEY are the players who can make or break you, those who rise to the occasion in September and those who find the extra pressure suffocating.

Adam Goodes and Nick Dal Santo belong very firmly in the first category, a pair of old stagers who know exactly what is required when the real action begins.

They boast 46 finals between them (Goodes 26, Dal Santo 20) and their Champion Data rankings rise significantly despite the extra intensity.

It’s why they are referred to as the “Money Men”, players who get the job done under extreme heat.

And then there are those go the other way, men who are extremely good home-and-away players but who for whatever reason haven’t always brought that form to September.

Richmond’s Shane Edwards, a line-breaker who is something of a barometer for the Tigers, has only played two finals but would be acutely aware neither has been anywhere near his usual standards.
