For one as much as we might think that our players are going to war ,they are not ,it is a game ,suggesting that the players put their life on the line for a game is stupidity. And before you say he/she didn't say this, what does attack each contest like it is your last mean? All AFL footballers are some of the bravest sportsman in the world and all are trying their very best, again I say if you have played much football you would understand that sometimes things just don't go your way. To many people buy into the media groupthink about a loss in a final, or even three finals. If you listen to the commentators you would think that they never ever played a poor game.
Getting back to tigeritis, I have every right to question what knowledge/experience he/she has to personally denigrate our players. If you have never played the game at afl level it is very hard to understand how hard it is. You can have an opinion but I don't think abusing players is fair to them.
Are you watching the GF?
What makes the pee&poo so good?

Finals success is make or break. You either win the contest or you lose.

It's the start of the second qtr and the GF is all over West coast is shot. Why? because the Hawks know how to win. Contest by contest, second efforts, ruthless attack on the footy etc.
With this sort of scoreboard pressure they now can afford to take all the risks in the world and most of them will come off.

Finals are made by ruthlessness. Lay a tackle you nail a tackle. Miss a target make sure you win the ball back. Attack the contest like it's your last ever.

With your backslapping, near enough is good enough, mediocre is ok attitude, I would be highly surprised if you had any success in your stellar AFL career.

We better get one then.

That said if half those Hawks player were at tiger land would they be just as good?

I think some clubs have a development level of excellence that demands a standard that far exceeds anything that we could ever dream of.
Unfortunately, like our AFL mate Dogged, there are still too many back slappers at punt road lauding mediocrity.

Frawley is a good example of this. He would never see success at a useless club like Melbourne a club that can justify tanking.

A great team promotes the greatest standards and those standards permeate through to every facet of the club even the property steward. When they asked Players the difference between there former club or say the Hawks they'll tell you it's standards.

As a club we can be ruthless and demand excellence from everybody no excuses. Cotchin, Deledio, Maric have to live with there mediocrity or they can prove they aren't down hill skiers and we MUST demand it from them. We shouldn't ever except the likes of Chaplin or continue to pander to the likes of Griffiths or put up with substandard selections of Francis Jackson or money ball Hartley.
We should be sourcing the best recruiters, the best development coaches rather than lining the pockets of good mates.

Unless of course your content to be middle of the road mediocre poofs and you can continue to pat Griffiths on the back for "competing" and giving Chaplin a medal for being a great bloke and giving Conca a pay increase for being pick 6 in the draft, because he deserved his spot in elimination final.

We should be a ruthless club and it's time we made some big decisions.
Raise the standards
Demand excellence
And shut the hell up!

Can't see it happening under the current administration, coach, football department or list managers....

Ha! I sure hit a nerve didn't I , or you wouldn't be going on about it. My vision of you is a little, inoffensive, emasculated male, who dreams of greatness but lacks the ticker to put it out there, it's far easier to criticise our players from behind a keyboard. Trying to humiliate our players from anonymity, I believe you basically are a coward.
