Didn't say he was a good one - at best he'll be an upgrade on Thomarse.

I'm not convinced he'll be an upgrade on Thomas.

At least you know with Thomas he's good for 20-odd touches, 10 contested, and probably a handful of tackles...

Hence why I said "at best". Wins a lot of ball in the SANFL and dominates at that level just like Thomarse did. He's at least a bit more skillful....and slightly quicker, though he's still a Moore so he won't exactly be burning blokes off. Don't get me wrong I don't rate him...has all the hallmarks of another list clogging moneyblair special. He pretty much cost Port the 2014 Prelim. too.

Anyway - here's a good overview of his last 4 seasons:

Enjoying the Andrew Moore debate. I know him and the family personally so I won't add anything other than saying he's a really down to earth humble switched on individual, much like his brother.

Which isn't really all that useful, given that we might recruit him to play football not raise our kids.

Any idea if he's a good footballer?

Like I said, I'd feel inappropriate commenting on it.

From The Age:-

Port Adelaide have parted ways with former No. 9 draft pick Andrew Moore.

Moore, 24, was shopped around during the trade period, but no deal was done for the 189cm utility, who played 55 games over six years at the Power, after being picked up at the end of 2009.

"I've loved my time at Port Adelaide," Moore, the ninth pick in the 2009 draft, told the Power's website.

"I appreciate the club giving me an opportunity to play AFL footy.

"I've made some great friends for life at the club and I wish the boys every success into the future."

The club's football manager Chris Davies thanked Moore for his efforts at the club.

"Andrew is a terrific person who has given everything he could to the footy club and we wish him all the best with his future," Davies said.

Moore appears likely to land at Richmond, where his brother Kelvin played 87 games between 2004 and 2012.

Port have said they will more changes to their playing list ahead of the first list lodgment deadline next Friday.

The Power brought in Gold Coast forward Charlie Dixon and Melbourne midfielder Jimmy Toumpas during the exchange period.

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Strange comment from you claw. Why? Because Moore is everything you say we should look at to upgrade our bottom 6 on our list.

You always say that we should look at big bodied type players playing well in the state leagues but not getting many chances in the AFL.  Well guess what? Former number 9 pick and highly rated junior who has been one of the best players consistently in the SANFL. 190cm and 90 kg and can play in many different positions.  Sure he won't turn the world upside down but according to all your preachings over the years we should look at him.

Why the turn around in philosophy?
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.
