Dan is turning into a damaging half-back. He's found his place in the team and is flying. You can see his confidence is at an all-time high. Easily in our top 3 B&F IMHV. The only criticism today is he could have finished with a couple of goals as well if he had kicked straight on the run.

24 disposals (10k, 14h, 3c, 20u, 79% eff.)
2 marks
1 tackle
4 inside 50s
6 intercepts
409 metres gained
8 score involvements
3 behinds
81% time on ground

Looking like Andrew McCloud.

What a masterstroke it was repositioning him to the backline

NO CONTRACT TALKS FOR RIOLI

DANIEL Rioli has parked contract talks with Richmond.

The three-time premiership player is out of contract at the end of the season, with his successful shift into defence arguably only increasing his value.

But as flagged by Inside Trading in April, Rioli is not yet entering into discussions on a new deal.

"No contract talks at the moment," Rioli told AFL.com.au in a Footy Feed special that will air on Friday.

"I'm keeping it down low."

Despite the pause, Rioli admits it would be difficult to part ways with the Tigers.

The 25-year-old has strong family ties to the yellow and black, most recently with the addition of his uncle, Maurice Rioli jnr.

"Yeah, obviously my grandfather played here and now I've got my little uncle here so it would make life pretty hard if I did leave," Rioli said.

"I think it's an amazing club here. I've got to keep playing good footy and see where we take it from here."

Rioli has played 121 games for Richmond since being selected with pick 15 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft.

He is managed by Ralph Carr, the colourful agent who also represents fellow Tigers Dustin Martin and Shai Bolton and facilitated Mabior Chol's free agency move from Punt Road to Gold Coast. – Sarah Olle

He actually shouldnt leave Richmond. I fear if he leaves he'll become a nothing player. Hes going really well with us now.  Stay at Richmond become a 250 gamer+ and multiple premierships. Whatever he does after footy, the Richmond supporters will look after him, especially if he goes into business.

I don’t think there’s any chance he leaves. But he’s clearly made a smart business decision because the longer the season goes on with the performances he’s putting in his $$$ just keep going up and up.

Rioli repositioning a resounding success

So far this season, Rioli is averaging 20.5 disposals, 5.0 marks, 3.6 rebound-50s, 5.7 intercepts, 4.5 score involvements and 422.9 metres gained per match.

He again was one of the Tigers’ most prominent performers in last Saturday night’s Dreamtime at the ‘G blockbuster, finishing the match with 26 disposals, an equal team-high six rebound-50s, eight intercepts and 328 metres gained.

“He gets better and better. Obviously, through experience, he’ll get an understand of what he can and can’t do,” Hardwick said.

“Credit where credit’s due, Adam Kingsley (Richmond assistant coach) has done a lot of work with him on his understanding of patterns.

“He’s been really important to our regeneration.

“He’s got some areas of his game he can get better at . . . Obviously, through experience, he’ll get an understanding of what he can and can’t do.

“But what he can do, is bring his strengths from that part of the ground.

“So, we’re really proud of the way he’s gone about it and the way he’s attacked it head-on.”

No risk of leaving but he’s gonna want to get paid and if he can play this well at hbf he deserves a pay rise.
